Electronic tipping your server?

So if you are staying on property at a Disney Resort and you have your magic band all set up for payments too. What's the options these days for electronically tipping your server when dining?

We've got a dining plan that includes table service, we're staying in a disney resort what's the process for tipping our server electronically so we don't need to carry lots of cash around?

In our experiences, when they bring you the bill, you can allot how much you want to tip, swipe your magic band and find it on your bill at the resort.

Thanks DisneyDebNJ is that also the case when you're on a Dining Plan when there may be zero to pay on the bill but you just want to tip the server?

yes, we do the dining plan every year and has worked that way. If memory serves they actually give you a few options for tips on your receipt. It worked very well for us

Thats exactly what we do, and we honestly have never had a problem

As @DisneyDebNJ stated it is a fairly easy process. You can write in your own tip or they have precalculated 15%, 18%, and 20% for you if my memory serves correct. If you are staying on-site it will all show up on your bill at checkout or you can request a copy of your current statement and/or settle any charges at any time during your stay. Depending on where you stay there is also a cap of how much you can have charged. It's not a big deal if you reach it, they just charge your card or you pay it off and you can you begin to reaccumulate. We've never come close to reaching the cap but that is how the process works.
