I'm glad the radio station I am forced to listed to in the waiting room of my daughter's dr's office has the decency to recognize that when playing "double shot Thursday" a Van Hagar song needs to be followed up with another Van Hagar song and cannot be followed by Van Halen with David Lee Roth. Two completely different bands, in my opinion. I enjoy both. But they are not the same band.

I am familiar with BJ's from our frequent trips to Buffalo.

I've shared this before, but I kid you not - on Transit Road, in a strip mall, there is a BJ's right next door to D*ck's Sporting Goods.
Yup! Always thought of that name as unfortunate. Of course, I don't think that everyone's mind is in the gutter like mine (and apparently @JenniferS) happen to be sunk into. Which is probably another unfortunate phrase!

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I gave you a like, but truthfully, I don't know what any of that means.

That's okay, I'll just let it go. And contemplate a nap.

I still like that song.
Sadly, I think @StarWarsGirl95 and I are the only two.
I'll admit to liking it. Might have something to do with watching my two little girls act it our while singing to it though. Yeah, that's it...

I agree, they're very different. I could see two McCartney songs with and without Wings, or two Neil Young songs with and without Crazy Horse. But not Roth and Van Halen.

I don't think your mind has to be in the gutter to find those names funny.

BTW - DO NOT do a Google image search for "Transit Road, BJ's and D*ck's side by side".

(Thank goodness for parental controls)

I have a friend who likes to say that "what's wrong with kids today is there is no threat of the backhand".

My parents didn't hit me. But I knew that they COULD and probably WOULD if I got out of line. Kids today don't have that fear.
Exactly.
My mother never smacked me across the face.
But I knew she WOULD, if I got to sassy, and that was enough to keep me in line.

My Father, and then myself, used our voices to keep control. I didn't know if more would come (it never did, he never laid a hand on me) but, I was sure that if I upset him enough he would rip off my arm and beat me in the head with it. I'm sure my kids thought the same thing. It was the voice. My wife would get upset because she could ask them a hundred times to do something and be ignored. All I had to do was utter one word, MOVE and they were off like a shot. Oh, the power. Sometimes all I had to do was look at them in a certain way. Gosh that was fun!
