Should the 3D shows be varied?

As much as I do love most of the 3D shows in WDW (I hate Captain EO though), I was thinking that it might be nice if each one had maybe 2-3 varieties of the show to keep things interesting. I guess I'm thinking in terms of the way the Star Tours ride performs, with so many different variations each time you ride it. I'm not saying Mickey's Philharmagic or It's Tough to Be a Bug should have 50 different versions, but maybe to keep things interesting - so you don't know exactly which show you'll be seeing - they could vary it up a bit with several versions instead of a major revamp of just the one.

That would be interesting, but the only 3D show that I truly love in WDW is Philharmagic. I cried coming out of MuppetVision when I was younger because I hated it so much lol. I think it would be cool but knowing my luck I'd always get the same show! (Always get the gangster on GMR!)

I like the idea, but it would cost a lot more to produce multiple endings or scenarios for each movie.

I truly think Disney is not worried about the repeat guest. Star Wars is a cult and very popular, so I think people expect more variation because they know people will ride multiple times.

Idk, it could work...
Diferent song and movie scenes in MP-M, different insects preforming in Bugs Life, visit different muppetes in M*V, just get rid of Captain EO all together...

Yah, it could be good, but it stilll would be nice to be able to have the entire show in a way IMO

I would LOVE this. I also agree with the Captain EO sentiment. We saw it when it was original and took the girls to see it once when it returned. They begged us NOT to make them sit through it ever again...and we haven't. It was tough on all of us. lol

I think that's a great idea, actually. It would certainly cost more, but it'd be worth it. In retrospect, I'm a little surprised they haven't done this given the popularity of ToT's randomness, the Monster's Inc LF differences in each show, the new SW randomness, and the Enchanted Tales and Test Track everyone-gets-their-own experience-thing. And, although the Jungle Cruise is essentially the same, they've always prided themselves on the unique experience with each skipper. This seems like something they should have already thought of???

Even if they didn't do several ENTIRE new shoes, but had it somehow seamlessly go off into 3-4 varied endings of 3-4 minutes just to make it different.....surely that wouldn't be near as costly as making 3-4 entire new 12 minutes shows.

It really wouldn't because most, if not all, of the 3D shows have other aspects like moving floors under your seat, bubbles, water spray or scents timed with it. It would require reprogramming every time they changed it. That means time and money. Can't see it happening.

EO sucked when it first was put in there in the 80's and nothing about it's stay in the archives did anything to improve it. Worse yet, the blatant capitalizing on the death of MJ, I find deplorable. It needs to be stored on the back shelf of the cabinet furthest away from any possibility that someone will find it ever again.

Hurrah! Couldn't agree more.

EO was the beginning of the EPCOTalypse, the meticulous destruction of EPCOT Center by Michael Eisner. The dreamy Magic Journeys, weird and trippy but strangely befitting EPCOT, was ripped out. To make way for the then current pop culture phenomenon, call it the Frozen of its day, the King of Paedoph...uh, King of Pop. What regrettable commercialisation, Future World used for popstars fighting with aliens. :banghead:

I could see more new attractions (whenever there are new ones) having the random style like Star Wars to appeal to technology kids/NextGen. However, it may be too costly to retool existing attractions.

I don't think so with shows like phillarmagic and it's a bugs life.... There's enough going on to make it great to see again.

Shows like captain EO were extinct for a reason in my opinion.

It's great what they did with star wars I guess, making it different each time. I just think that ride is still dated though. They took the cheap way out.
