Dynamically Raising Prices Excites Me

Take this from a kindrid spirit.

Only you can stop the cycle.

Yeah, I know, Fortune Cookie mush, but it is true.

That being said, there's a difference between being depressed and lashing out. One that has taken me a long time to learn and I still haven't mastered. Don't follow that model. Focus more on the positives in life, and you will find they are more abundant than you suspect.

Take this from someone who is also negative, and take it, like you should take all advice, with a grain of salt.

Oh...and since I'm giving out advice from my soapbox...wear sunscreen.

Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
In my area (as is the case, I believe, for Starbucks around the country now) they replaced some nicer, local pastries, etc., with the LaBoulange items, that are shipped frozen to the stores. (I read that recently, and I regret I do not recall the site for reference here.) IMO, I can get frozen bakery items at the supermarket for much less money; thawed-out frozen items are o.k., but nothing like fresh bakery pastries.

I resent paying a premium price for bakery items that were not baked fresh that day. Also, there's something about the display of these items in the glass case that looks so cookie-cutter and boring. (Side note: I'm sure, the actual LaBoulange bakery (wherever that's located) probably has delicious items, freshly-made, "same day" and available to their own local community.)

Now, for a chuckle: In my area, we have a few locations with Starbucks and Dunks, side-by-side. I go into Starbucks for coffee, and then walk over to Dunkies for pastry! (Dunks in my area has an in-state bakery that ships fresh to the stores, daily.)

That is why I get annoyed with those who ooh'd and ahhh'd over Starbuck's Bakery comparing it too the Main St. Bakery items of yesteryear. I just wanted to stay stop please, I just thought it instead.

Someone plowed over a coyote not far from my house a few weeks ago. Thank goodness the county road kill crew cleaned it up. It was "fragrant".

Your post reminded me about the number of animals that end up as road kill. For example, I know that in Maine, the state will accept bear, deer, and moose (provided the meat is not damaged). They then donate the meat to food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters, and that's a thoughtful way of dealing with the situation. (I don't know how they handle coyotes or other animal road kill, though; maybe it's the same as in your area.)

We have that during deer season. Our local butcher will accept any freshkill, process them for free and donate them to the local food bank. They do a good business of it. We've been there some weekends and seen a half dozen or so hanging on the delivery dock. During certain weeks of fishing season they'll process any catch and donate it.
