I haven't been to Olive Garden in probably 15 years...

I had an excellent Penne Vodka with cherry tomato's and prosciutto on Sunday at a place near my Dad's house though. :hungry:

I'm not sure how Olive Garden stays in business around here. There is a pizza place in EVERY shopping center where you can get any Italian dish imaginable at far better quality and far less cost.

Same here - it makes no sense to me at all. Their sister restaurant, Red Lobster, closed years ago because they couldn't compete with the local seafood places here. Personally I avoid OG anyway - I have issues with garlic, and it's pretty hard to find anything there that isn't overloaded with it.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I haven't owned a Nintendo system in a very long time so I haven't seen a DK game in ages. I loved his N64 game although I forget if I ever finished it or not.
We had the original Colecovision when I was a teenager.
Say what you will, that was, hands down, the best system ever!

My mom held the record for almost every single game. Mr. Do and Ladybug were her favourites!

Well the Bug scientists were wrong. They said we would have a low level of mosquitoes do to larva freezing and staying frozen for so long in sub zero temps.

I am here to say the Mosquito population is more than healthy for this time of year. After tonight's Pup walk I look like I have measles.

So much for science.

Yeah my arms are a bumpy mess right now :( Also the stink bugs. I thought the harsh and prolonged winter was supposed to kill them off? Or did they- but the survivors are all congregating only at my house?

My cat is getting fat from eating the damn bugs.

On a serious note, I'm positively horrified of the current news report of two 12 year old girls attempting to stab their friend to death, to gain entrance into a (fictional) group surrounding a (fictional) character, Slenderman.

Positively. Horrified.

I think it's struck me so hard because as a 12 year old, I was a passionate reader and I absorbed EVERYTHING. I had already graduated from RL Stine's "Goosebumps" and was already reading Stephen King and Dan Simmons and Frank Herbert.

I can see how it would be easy for the very active mind of a young person to make associations that simply aren't... there... and want so desperately to connect to a character- even if it's supposedly fictional. That's a delicate age group, one where the mind is switching tracks from fun characters and imagination to a more adult, grown setting. It's hard to learn the balance and recognize it. I'm not trying to justify what they did- at that age, you do know the difference between right and wrong. It's just so scary, from a book junkies point of view. I can see the 'trap' and allure that a fictional character could have. But this one is terrifying.

I'm glad their intended victim survived, but the damage to all three families is beyond measure. My heart goes out to them... all of them.

The whole Darden Restaurant group has gone through major restructuring and have closed over 100 under preforming restaurants while opening others. Season's 52 is doing well, ours in N. IL grabbed the former executive chef from California Grill at Disney. Darden sold off Red Lobster last month. Outbacks around here are beginning to show their age and Long-Horn who also sell an Onion too is kicking butt and is also owned by Darden.

Darden also owns Bahama Breeze, Yard House, Capital Grille's, Wildfish and Eddie V's. They launch a new one and usually dump the lower performing ones, right now Olive Garden is slipping the same way Red Lobster has in recent years.
Wow! So they have a high recycle process , where they constantly sell under-performing offerings and then install new ones to refresh their offer portfolio?

And yet the gift shop is front and center as you come through the door.
Or the retail store they usually have (with water, potato ships..etc..) with overpriced merchandise you can just buy by walking at most..a few blocks.

That is good to hear, Chains usually destroy the local joints or give serious competition.
I wonder how good your local seafood places are!

Makes me wonder. Who gave these kids the idea about stabbing?
did they see it online on the internet?

as for horrified stuff.. I have to say, I'm seriously disappointed by the opinion of many individuals defending Ricky sexist "butt grabbing" action in the new spirit thread. Specially those who say "bah, the CMS have seen worse!".

And also gets kinda creepy when they mention the infamous actor stalkers; who have literally harassed, followed, tried to meddle and affect the actor's real life.
YIKES!

FYI - If creme brûlée is offered, I will always pick it.

That's hubby. We sometimes choose our ADRs at WDW based on whether or not they have creme brulee.

I was obsessed with that show growing up. That, CHiPs, Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels (geez there is a slight possibility I watched a LOT of TV growing up).

We had the original Colecovision when I was a teenager.

Mine was Burger Time.
