Help me identify these Epcot robots?

I was going through an old VHS (hence the GREAT quality of the pictures) of my trip back in '96. I would of been 8 or 9 years old back then, so I don't remember too much of the trip. I came across a performance of these 2 robots and I can't seem to find anything about them!?
Any help would be appreciated!

I have to assume (cant see pics) that you are talking about the terrific Epbots. I saw them in 1996 as well, they were just great. Loved the constant sound effects.

I wonder how the sound effects are triggered and whether they're controlled somehow by the performers or if there are preprogrammed sequences to which the performers try to synchronize their moves.

It appears they were always private contractors.
Their contract with EPCOT may have only been for the launch of Innoventions.

I forgot how much entertainment Epcot and most of Walt Disney World used to be before with guests.

I forgot how much entertainment Epcot and most of Walt Disney World used to be before with guests.

There was a time where future world was hoppin. It had a full days worth of attractions. If they were to keep up people would probably have to use 2 full days at the park if they wanted to see everything.

I wish I could have experienced epcot back then! I loved the idea of the future in the 90s, the actual future, as it turns out, not so much.

I remember stumbling across an random Walt Disney World home video that was on Youtube a while ago which was mostly shot at Epcot in the mid 80's that showed Gyro talking to the camera man. It's so rare to find any footage of the robots in action.
