Free Breakfast for value resorts

Have been purusing the british version of the walt disney world website today looking at 2015 holidays and noticed that at the times they are offering free dining plans for the moderate and delux resorts they are also offering free breakfast in the value resorts!! I dug a little deeper and it says it equates to 1 quick service meal per day worth $11.99!! As someone who can eat a disney breakfast and then only need a small snack until dinner time this seems like a really good idea from disney to me!!

Has anyone else noticed this, I think it must be pretty new. Is it just for UK travellers or Americans too??

Discuss! :-)

I haven't looked at dates for next year, but I can say that we aren't being offered anything like that with our stay at Pop this June, so sounds new to me.

In the Uk free dining is a very common deal-you can get the dining plan quick service for free. So breakfast was always free sorta if you did it like that.

It's likely something that will only be offered outside of the U.S. Europeans (particularly UK, though I believe it's throughout the continent) generally expect breakfast to be included in any hotel stay. It's really common to overhear folks mentioning this at check-in or at breakfast time when they realize they need to pay for breakfast. To many of those folks it's as odd as checking into a hotel and finding no towels, and that you have to purchase/rent towels for the room in addition to the room rental price.

That makes sense, although many hotels in the US do offer free breakfast at other tourist spots. For example, when DH and I go to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area, all of the hotels we have ever used there all have offered some kind of free breakfast.

Since you specifically mentioned that it lists free dining plan for Moderate and Deluxe, I'd make sure to read into things and make sure there is some other kind of dining plan, too. They may be trying to give you free breakfast with no additional meal plan...

Yup thats definately correct, theres no other plan, but as a Brit, in previous years you didnt get any kind of free plan with a Value resort, if you wanted dining plan whilst staying at all stars, pop or AOA you would have to pay for the plans on top of hotel price, so though this deal is only breakfast and not all meals, I still think its kinda nice to have something included with the value hotels:)

Just curious, Do they offer free dining as an option to American guests in value resorts? Cause as I said, they never ever have before to Uk guests

Usually Value Stays on Free Dining include the Quick Service Meal Plan not the Regular DDP.

Not in the UK

Uk before 2015 stays...

Value = Nothing
Moderate = QSDP
Deluxe = DDP

...so they've actually increased the discount for us, instead of reducing it as was rumoured...

Well they have raised prices as such an extreme clip the past couple years they can probably finally still make a massive profit by offering it. Attendance is huge so it isn't that they are hurting.

When free dining was first intoduced you got the full Dining Plan at the values, they then reduced it to Quick service and over the last couple of years removed it completely.

If it has a large take up I suspect it will be dropped at the values and then applied to the Moderates instead of the QSDP in the future.
