ditto and added to it ;-)If you have ever had beignets from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans or almost any place in NOLA you will be disappointed.
The beignets at Boulangerie Patisserie are not the same as the ones at POFQ and they were being sold only during Mardi Gras.
POFQ is a 5 minute bus drive from EPCOT, you could take a break from the rides, hop on the bus and eat freshly made beignets in under 20 minutes!
Having had beignets at Cafe Du Monde, Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, Pat O'Brian's, and a few other places, the ones I had (twice) from POFQ were the worst I have ever had. There are a few places in Orlando to get great beignets, unfortunately none at WDW. The best beignets here are at Tibby's New Orleans Kitchen in Winter Park and Altamonte Springs. Pat O'Brian's at CityWalk are good. And surprisingly in CityWalk there is a snack stand between Island Trading Company and the lagoon that has great made to order beignets and specialty coffee drinks. A double shot Mocha and some beignets are a great pre-park breakfast.
Absolutely agree! The ones from Cafe du Monde are 100x better than the ones at POFQ. IMO it's hard to call the ones there beignets. Maybe I just got them on a bad day, but they were flat and chewy instead of puffy and light. We went over to POFQ last summer for breakfast one day so I could try their beignets....If you have ever had beignets from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans or David's New Orleans Style Sno Cones in PCB, you will be disappointed.
I'd love it if Boulangerie put beignets on the menu as a regular item. Anything from France is usually really good.
Oh you can also buy the mix from CdM and make them at home and ours still came out better than the ones at POFQAbsolutely agree! The ones from Cafe du Monde are 100x better than the ones at POFQ. The only time I've had beignets have been at POFQ, so I have nothing to compare them to, but we ripped them open and put ice cream in the middle and it was delicious. Probably not the way they're meant to be eaten, but they were really good filled with chocolate ice cream.
So all this Beignet talk was to much to take lying down. So on my way into USF about an hour ago I stopped here.

Mmmmm. Craving satiated.
I'm having a Duff Beer now.Oh yes, you can eat them that way, and with fruit too. Traditional is just with the powdered sugar, but if you want to doctor them up you most certainly can!
Oh you make me too jealous!!

Go to New Orleans Square at Disneyland for the Mickey beignets. Sooo good! Might be up there with Cafe Du Monde.
I grew up 30 minutes from Disneyland but moved to the east coast and haven't been back since the 90's. I wish I was still in California and could just run right over.![]()
