Coronado Springs Tips?

Hey guys, we just booked an August trip and was wondering if anyone could give any resort tips for CSR? Preferred buildings for transportation? For going to food court? Best stations/dishes at food court? Closeness to pool? I've read that the rooms are bigger? How can I find out about conferences that may be here during my travel dates? How do conferences effect your stay?

I've never stayed here before and we had a pin code that made it $140 different to stay here as opposed to an All-Star resort. My FIL has stayed here multiple times and says it is his favorite. Any tip would be appreciated.

I liked the Cabanas section as it was close to the main building and the big pool. The conventions never bothered us. We thought the buses ran more on a good time schedule here, and we attributed it to the conventioneers (as people might need to be places at certain times). My big tip, make sure you enjoy the pool, it is well themed and awesome!

Oh yeah, we only inside the food court once and I had a bourbon chicken thing, but I don't see it on the menu any more. We did the Maya Grill for a breakfast buffet, which I don't think they do anymore either, which is fine because it wasn't great but wasn't bad either.

What she said. I stayed here in the Spring of 2012 and unless they had some major changes to their dining, I'd plan on eating elsewhere. The buses can back up, especially upfront by the lobby area. The Cabana's are a nice place to stay.

Buzz's website is full of great info and photo's. Love it.

EDIT: as I re-read my own post, it doesn't come off as I like CS and I had a lovely stay, both their quiet pools and main are wonderful. Best playground on property, Outside Margarita Bar fun. Just eat elsewhere.

We stayed in Rancheros section. People complain that the resort is so spread out, but in reality even the furthest rooms from the Lobby are maybe a 10 minute walk, and that's if you are strolling. Rooms are larger than any of the values- comparable to a marriott or Hilton. We love it- so quiet and beautiful. Conventions are never a bother.

I would definitely request the Cabana section. The resort is beautiful. I think maybe the most beautiful of all the disney resorts and I've stayed at alot of the deluxe ones now and still CSR is just landscaped so nicely and the way the sun reflects off the water in the morning and evenings...
I never really ate in their food court the time we stayed there. Got coffee and a croissant a couple of times and once got the pasta dish at Cafe Rix. Everything I did eat was very good. Liked the big pool and the quiet pool. Buses were pretty good. Went to the Casita side one day and got a massage.
Laid in the hammocks late one afternoon and took a nap.
Was a great visit.

The pool is awesome! Try to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the little food court early because it's small and gets packed during breakfast and lunch time. You must eat at least once at the buffet at breakfast time because the food is amazing and all you can eat bacon! convention center is huge but I had no issues with it. The bar area is nice and the main restaurant (Mayian grill) is good! It's a beautiful resort, so walk around and explore!

We loved it! We stayed there in 2011. Last year we stayed at POR and although it was nice, we prefer CS. The food court at CS was great. The bus service was excellent. We are going back to CS in Sep. 2014.

9b is the best location IMO if your goal is to be close to everything.

Cabana 9b houses the business class rooms which is a higher nightly rate. There are some rooms there that are not part of the business class but just remember there are harder to get because there are not many available.

The Cabana section is definitely the best.

The food at the food court isn't great. We preferred leaving early enough to get breakfast and lunch at the parks.

The conventions won't bother you. It's a little strange to see guys walking around in suits and carrying briefcases, but it's not really an issue.

So are the non-business class rooms considered preferred or standard?

I stayed in business class last week and I loved it! Definitely worth the extra money.
