For those that are Southwest Rapid Rewards customers - check your mail - this week I got a letter from them with several coupons for a free drink (alcohol) on board my flight which does does not expire until January 2015. Nice freebie.

I believe you have to earn them. I was perusing their website and saw something about 'earning' them. I have received a couple of them over the last year, but I fly a lot for business.

I have been earning them -- but only though my SW Visa card. They (understandably) would be more interested in courting your business than mine. I'm a decidedly infrequent flier.

No coupons for me but I now have enough RR points for a free one way from Portland to Orlando!! Wooooo!!!
You get four on your Rapid Rewards anniversory date and if you have it on your RR Visa anniversory date.

Yeah we've been charging anything that can be charged on that bad boy (groceries, etc.) even though we have the dough and then paying it off...We're flying back and forth in September for FREE!No coupons for me but I now have enough RR points for a free one way from Portland to Orlando!! Wooooo!!!

That's the way to go, even if you have the money to do it. If you can earn points (or in some cases on other cards, cash back, etc..) why not? Free flights are always AWESOME!!
