Winter side of Winter Summerland Mini Golf closing for refurbishment until further notice

This almost sounds like "we want to close one side to reduce operating costs during a quiet period, but we don't want to tell people that".

While the cynic in me agrees, not sure there is much of a reduction in operating costs. Not like they monitor the courses, or perform routine maintainence.

Winter side really needs some work, too. Played just before Christmas, two holes had non-working effects, one hole was closed off with security tape, and the whole thing was begging for a new coat of paint.

No need to speculate. The past refurbishment was terrible and they weren't impressed with the work so they found a new company to redo the greens on it. One was so terribly done by the company that they shut down a hole and you go to a play an additional hole for a 2nd time. At least they knew it sucked and decided to fix it. No Frozen change.

That is good to hear. Winter SummerLand is a great little diversion that I would hate to see bulldozed.
I can only assume it's a money making machine since the overhead is practically zero so wouldn't see a need to bulldoze it. Additionally, Fantasia Gardens is a popular convention location for Swan and Dolphin so there's a good tie in and need to keep that one.

And with that, this thread will now be shutting down......!! LOL

I hope they fix more then just the greens. Like Simeon else said, I just played on it last month on the winter side and it did have effects not working, needs some paint work and the greens were a little bad in some areas too. Even though that one hole was taped off my fiancé and I still tossed our balls down there to count it. Hope it's reopened by March!

Or...you know...this:

Side note:

This is one of the best AP discount offerings. As a local, we enjoy the 50% off quite often. Far more than the crappy 15% off we get at Universal.

See how that works Disney, give us a decent discount and the pocketbook opens really easily. Now how about some dining discounts so I do not have to keep eating off site before I visit, m'kay?
