How does Universe of Energy manage to remain open?

Get rid of Nye and put in Beakman? Oh, and Lester, gotta have Lester. I would definitely ride that one.

If Beakman was put in place of Nye, I would immediately quit my job, pick up my family and move to Celebration, and put in my application to be a CM at UoE. Permanent career change. I love me the Beakman. Have the board game. Have many of the episodes on VHS (yes, VHS). Some of the best science education I have witnessed (and I have been teaching high school for 20 years).

I can't even remember the last time I rode it. I mean, seriously trying to think about this and drawing a total blank on when I last rode it. Love and I have been together over 15 years and I don't think we've ever ridden it together. I had to google when they added Ellen ('96) so yeah...that was probably the last time I was on it. Sheesh. Talk about historic! LOL I guess the dinosaurs aren't the only ancient things about the ride.

One of these days I'll have to give it the riding things we never ride go just since I really barely remember it at this point.

Again, I will repeat that for those of us that have been going there yearly or more, rides like UoE are getting old. But you know what? As amazing as this may seem, there are probably a lot more people going to WDW that have never been before or are people that only go every 5 or more years. To the newbee's it is not old, just to us. I don't know the numbers but in WDW I don't believe we are the core visitors like the locals are at Disneyland. They can't and shouldn't change things every time one of us gets bored.

Anyway, that said, I had this thought.. since Futureworld is hardly that anymore, how about taking each of those big rooms in UoE and making them mini-past attractions. Keep the Dino's to represent UoE, make the next room Horizon themed, the next WoM and the next the old Imagination beginning. Who knows, maybe even more can be put there. That would be a 45 minute ride I would drive to Florida to see. In Imagination, re-imagine the ride and reopen the parts that have been closed off and put a different story line in, I'm sure there must be one, rebuild the turn-table with todays technology, which I assume would be better then that of 30 years ago. Take out EO, burn the film so they won't be tempted to show it again on the 10th anniversary of MJ's death, and replace it with a Phineas and Ferb action, comic movie in 3 and 4D. For those that don't want P & F there, please take a few moments and watch a couple of episodes. It is truly funny and the writing is great and, in many cases, way over the heads of the kids. It is one of the most imaginative things coming out of Disney right now.

I must now go and prepare to start receiving many royalty checks for those ideas. :joyfull:

Not sure where I said anything pro or con about changing it. Just pointing out that in my literally hundreds of visits it's been so long since I've ridden it that I seriously can't remember when the last time it was. Just conversation.

You didn't, I just used your message as a jumping off point. Because it illustrated how those of us that have been a gazillion times are not able to understand that it is not old to everyone. Sorry, for the confusion, just a poor segueway, I guess.

Did you mean Bill Nye and Alex Trebek? I don't recall Willard Scott in it at all. Maybe, I'm just missing a segment in my brain and I have forgotten. ;)
Willard does the weather report near the end. It's his voice, anyway. It is probably lost on many people. I still enjoy it because I always liked Willard and his Birthdays for the old people, but I'm sure a lot of people have no idea whose voice they're hearing.

It's still cute, even if whoever hears never heard of Willard Scott and didn't know it was being done by the guy who was, once, America's favorite Carmen Miranda impersonator. :)

Well, I was a newbie when I saw Ellens Energy Adventure: It's old.

I like the rest of your ideas. Also, Future World needs a good power washing and a visit from Roto Rooter (bad sewer smell at Test Track)

Not to mention, the original Ronald McDonald. :) I honestly, never noticed the voice in that part. But I have mentioned many times in the past how I don't pay a lot of attention to the details, just the results.o_O
