La Hacienda de San Angel

Went there on our last trip in June. Shrimp tacos are yummy, but the tilapia my DS ordered was the best thing on the table. Yum! Try and get a later ADR, you can see Illuminations through the windows while the soundtrack plays in the restaurant. Very cool experience

we've eaten there 3 times. we enjoyed the la hacienda, it's a meal for two. the steak on it was really good and i love the shrimp tacos. they're like what they sell at mexico's kiosk during food and wine...super yummy. i wish the kids menu was a little more diverse.

That's if you can get lucky and can be by a window.

Actually, we weren't sitting by a window and I was disappointed. But once the show started, the restaurant came to a halt, and we stood where we could see out the window. To be honest, it was us and the waiters standing there, looking out the window. So if you need a drink refill, do it before Illuminations starts.

Here are my shrimp tacos. Just--Yummy!

DS's tilapia. He is my adventurous eater. I have to say with the exception of shrimp, I hate sea food. I tried it, and just wow!

DH had the taco trio for dinner, even though it is actually an appetizer. He won't eat pork, so he swapped out that for another chicken. He said it was OK, but really wished he ordered what DS got.

DD, 10 yrs old, is my picky eater. And I hear you when you say it is the same stuff on the kids menu. Truth be told, she would be very happy if she just alternated between chicken strips and cheese burgers. So when she ordered the tacos, I was ready to have my own little fiesta. Best part, she said it was the best taco ever. I should mention she asked for a very stripped down one--just meat and cheese.

The one thing I was disappointed about--well, I had heard about that avocado margarita, and DH and I were very intrigued. I really don't drink much--but that one had me curious. We looked for it, and couldn't find it on the menu. The waiter told us they took it off a few weeks before. Other ones looked interesting, but I just really had my heart set on that one, so boring old diet coke for me.

The other thing I should mention is the beans were served family style, which worked great as some of us like them, and some don't. I want to say rice was served the same way, but I'm not sure. The other EPCOT restaurant that my DD ate at and liked the food was Teppan Edo. I was happy she was finally eating something that wasn't fried.

We have been there four or five times and the food is always good. We love the La Hacienda!!!!

We have yet to finish this. You also get a bowl of rice and black beans with this as well. The cheese queso is amazing. Its not your usual Tex-Mex cheese dip. The only thing that seems to be the norm is slow service. I don't think the staff is bad. You won't be rushed, thats for sure. But if you're in a hurry, just keep that in mind.

So looking forward to eating here again!!!

What time did you make you reservation to see Illuminations???
We never stayed for Illuminations only because we like being outside for the show. We have made ADRs q=with the intention os staying, but always left. I would book for 2 hours before, maybe 90 minutes prior at the latest. Enjoy!

We have been there 3 to 4 times and I always seem to order the Tacos de Camarones (Shrimp Tacos) Wow, they are so good. My wife has had the pork and steak entrees and liked both of them. We have had good service, but as mentioned the children's offerings are limited. We asked if they could make a cheese quesadilla and the server said no and did not even ask in the kitchen. They certainly have cheese and flour tortillas and cook on a flat top grill so I don't know why, but that is the only negative we have had there.

Watching Illuminations in the restaurant is ok. Done it once shortly after the restaurant opened and never again. I would not recommend eating there if you really want to see and enjoy Illuminations. Depending on where you are seated the view may not be that good and there is nothing like being outside and feeling the heat of the fire and the percussion from the fireworks.

True I love fireworks and feeling the thump of them and that smell were probably going to eat there and try and find a good spot somewhere to watch the show.
