Hope they can move the table closer to the charging box. In a public place I do not wish to be more than 3 feet from my phone while charging in case somebody decide to take the phone. Plus hate to stand 45 minute to a hour waiting for the battery to recharge.

If you plug in your phone at Disney, they could totally scan your phone and all your personal data. They might even use that data for...marketing!

Don't hook your phone up to these connectors - data can flow through electrical outlets - and write your Senators and Congressman! The risk is too high to exchange for simple electricity!

There choice of implementation for charging stations is interesting to say the least...

As troublesome as the lockers in DLR can be (a bit confusing)... I'd still prefer charging lockers.

Or simply charging stations in restaurants.. you know.. where I already plan on sitting for a period of time

The way Disney likes to turn over tables, that will never happen. They don't want people lingering while they wait for the last few % to fill on their phone when more paying guests could be put in the table.

I think that's also why you don't see these right at seating areas, period.

I think overall people are missing the point of these - they aren't there to max-charge your phone. They are to get a quick boost to get you through the day.

Personally, though, I think that if you are going to carry a charger to utilize this, people might as well get one of the new inexpensive external batteries/charging stations. They are of comparative bulk and the newer ones (which can be had for well under $50) are really nice and reliable, and you can charge your phone while it's still in your backpack/pocket/etc. They are usually about the size of a deck of cards.

When you figure how much you pay for a trip to Disney, it easily could pay for itself in a trip depending on how often you need a charge.

Don't know, she just did. I guess the idea is to give a more personal service, but I'd rather see that money spent on giving me direct bus access to the parks. Or a free continental breakfast. Or something else a Holiday Inn on I-4 would give me but a "Deluxe" Disney resort can't.

Useless to me, my phone charger doesn't fit into those US sockets. Well not without an adaptor, which I wouldn't drag along with me even if it weren't back in the hotel room charging my camera/computer.

Sea World's done it right, they provide cables instead of electricity sockets. Neither chargers, nor unhappy international tourists.

The charging stations are nice and all, especially if your only camera is your phone. But, Recently I went to Disney World and saw many kids more focused on their iPads and such than the actual experience! They are supported to be making memories with their families not sitting there in the stroller playing Angry Birds!

Hardly. Anyone walking around WDW in the past 5+ years would see tons of people who are constantly using their smartphones and tablets throughout the day. And when you use such things all the time, you need to charge them to keep them running -- especially when you are talking about your phone, which most people like to have be working at all times. This is not some new phenomena at WDW in the past year due to FP+ or anything and in fact the demand for access to outlets has been around for a while.

For that matter, look at people in an airport terminal and see how many are sitting there with a device plugged in to an outlet while they are waiting. That's not because of MM+, but because people are just fixated with constantly using electronic devices and then need to charge them.

I will not be using theses. That would be so annoying, and I'm way too paranoid to leave my electronics anywhere that isn't my house. Plus, I wouldn't want to wait for it to actually charge to keep it alive for a significant amount of time. Honestly, just bring one of the power-charger things (I have no clue what the name is).

With luck, I won't be using any electronics enough to have a reason to use it, with or without MDE.

Disney has accelerated the demand by making a smartphone or similar part of the Walt Disney World experience via MyMagic+.

We ate dinner one night and the family across from us was a group of four. Each person was individually engaged in their own electronic device while they ate. No talking, no laughing...no fun. We take a camera in on most days and that's about it.

That said. My phone had our ADR reservation info on it. Didn't use it for much other than that and it was locked in a locker at the beginning of the day I don't want an electronic leash on me.
