Pick a pearl in Epcot

My mom got me a pearl on their trip back in February. I was wondering if I could take it back with me when we go to Disney next week and have it put into a ring? Not sure if there are rules that you have to get the pearl and have it set that day? Thanks!

@tare that is a good point. I haven't really thought about pricing it out at a jewelry store here, I sort of assumed it wouldn't be too expensive there. I'll have to call around.

Any jeweler where you live will be much cheaper.
Yes, but less fun.

It's not about the actual value of the Pearl (we've gotten a few nice ones and a few crud ones)...it's about shucking it and then watching it get mounted!

My daughter has one from every trip...some are great, most are mediocre.

You aren't paying for the pearl. You are paying for the memory.

I had no idea what this was when I saw this thread, but after reading it I've had a look around to see what it was all about, and I now REALLY want to do it when we go! haha! is the jewelry expensive?

@englanddg agreed:).

I looked it up quickly and for a silver ring I think it will be about $40 (gold is much more $$) If I can use the pearl that my parents got me on their last trip there, then I think I'll do it.

@Mousey21 it seems like you can get it set into a necklace for as little as $12-15, or spend a couple hundred...depending on what you want.

haha $15 seems fine to me! even $20,maybe not a couple of hundred though!

am i right in thinking getting the pearl actually costs about $17?

works out to be about £24 which seems reasonable, and it looks like a fun experience and something really memorable!

If you still have it in the original bag they gave it to you in you can bring it back at anytime to have it set. I had two pearls made into necklaces for my sister and I a few weeks ago and it was pretty pricey. Not so much the mounting and setting, that was only $32 a piece but the necklaces themselves were $99!
