And if kiddo chickens out, have ONE adult ride the ride, and the other take her outside. No biggie! it sounds like you are really trying to make it work for you and hubby to do rides that she won't go on without having to wait.
as someone who goes to WDW with little ones alot- that is just not going to work. sorry

if your child is tall enough for the ride, they are not supposed to give you child swap pass. if you get to the front of the line and she chickens out, some cast members will let one hang back and then pass the child off to the other, but that is not official policy.

she should be able to do most rides without fear, few are really scary. but if you and hubby really want to do those rides that she won't go on, the best you are going to be able to do is for both of you to ride using regular normal fastpasses.

you both get a fastpass for the ride, one goes on and one stays with daughter, (and actually takes her somewhere to shop or play-there are lots of interesting places for her while you are on the ride)- then when first parent is finished, the second can go. it should not take long for the first parent to stand in line and ride the attraction, meaning the original fastpass you picked up should still get the second parent in. assuming you don't wait until the end of the time range on your fastpass to get there.

Lets use Space Mountain for example. You both get fast passes. One person goes through the fast pass line, then when that person is done, the other person goes through it. The fast pass line generally takes a few minutes. That's one way to do it. If you do not get a fast pass, or for rides that don't offer it, one of you goes through the regular line. Then at the front of the line or when you get off you ask for a baby swap pass and they give you a fast pass and that person goes through the fast pass line. The baby swap fast pass is better because it lets you bring someone from your party with you so you don't ride alone, but it won't benefit you in this case. For those rides that don't have a fast pass line, ask a cast member at the entrance to the ride because you may all have to go through the line and one person with the child will have to wait at the loading area. For some rides, the other person waits on the side and then a cast member will escort you to the front after the first person comes off.

It's not child swap, its "baby swap" for a reason! Because of the height restrictions if a baby is not able to go on a ride, then you can baby swap. I never heard of this with a child that is actually tall enough to ride and they still give out the baby swap pass.

All you have to do is get 2 FP for the attractions your kid won't go on. One of you goes on first, and when done, the other goes on next. Remember that the fp line will hve about a max 15 minute wait. Its pretty simple. You are going during a slower time so your wait times should not e anywhere extreme whatsoever!

I would suggest only getting FP for the rides your kid doesn't want to go on to reduce having to spend lots o time in those lines as they will be the only rides with somehwhat of a line.

To keep your child occupied during a longer line if you run into any, have them play on your cellphone or iPod or Nintendo DS if you have one! It'll go by so quick.

You will be extremely lucky if they actually let you use the baby swap but if you do what I suggested you should be fine!

We have used Child Swap successfully for years at Disney and Universal. There is me, DH, DS and DD.
DD was too small to ride coasters etc for her first two visits, so we used CS. All go to ride, me and DS get in line, cast member gives fast pass ticket to DH valid for three people that day on that ride. Me and DS ride then DH and DS go through fast pass line and ride. This works best when not busy obviously. We never do this for a line of more than 20 mins. Worked so well one day in AK for Expedition Everest that DS got to ride it 7 times that day with hardly a wait.

Last Easter DD was tall enough for TofT, but did not want to ride. So we asked if we could swap. CM said yes but she would have to get in line and then wait at exit with parent, then swap. I said no way she is going in library with Twilight zone and darkness etc, so they still did CS normal way. But other things she was happy to get in line and wait at exit for.

This year she is tall enough for everything but still may not want to ride, as she is 6, so we will see how we have to play it this time.

Here is how we do this, you will have 3 tickets. Yours, your husbands, and your daughters. That's 3 fast passes. If you have a ride you know she won't do... I.e. rocking roller coaster, you get a fast pass, walk up with your husband and ask for a ride switch ticket. They will give him one, then you go thru the line (fast pass) and he waits outside. When you are done he takes the switch ticket and goes thru the fast pass line too. Also important to remember is the switch ticket is good all day... So you can return later if she gets antsy waiting. But that way you can double up your fast pass effectiveness until she is comfortable riding

It doesn't hurt to ask the cm at the line if you can do child swap. We traveled with my niece when she was 9 months old and were able to child swap her on toy story at DHS. The cm said we could bring her on, but there's no reason to bring a baby on that ride and her parents don't do screens. Plus whoever was holding her couldn't play. So we said we would like to ride, but couldn't bring her on and the cm got us a child swap pass.

In my experience the cm usually wants all of you standing there before anyone has ridden. They usually asked which child was staying and who was going. Then sent the people riding first through the line and handed the child swap to the parent staying behind.

You are going to have an amazing time. The planning can be a little stressful, but generally people are pretty nice. Ask CMs if you have questions. Say hi to the people standing next to you. Relax and have fun!

I think you have me confused with someone else, perhaps the person who started the thread. I'll be there with my wife (I'm "hubby") and two boys. I'm not trying to avoid waiting in lines - as you can see my post above was asking if the entire party could wait in the single rider line and do the swap at the loading area (possibly that violates the rules of the Single Rider Line, which is why I asked. When I was last at Disneyworld, there was only one line for everyone, and no Fastpass).

That is incorrect, according to the Disneyworld website. See what I've posted below.

Actually, it's Rider Switch (they also refer to it as Rider Switch Service), and you're incorrect about how it works, according to the Disneyworld web site:

This handy feature allows adult Guests to take turns waiting with youngsters or Guests unable to ride.
What Is Rider Switch and How Does It Work?
If Guests in your party don’t want to board an attraction, you don’t have to miss out. One adult can wait with the non-rider while the rest of the party experiences the attraction. The waiting adult can then board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again when another adult in the party returns to supervise the child or children who do not ride—either because they do not meet the height requirement or simply do not wish to ride.
Rider Switch is available at select attractions at all 4 Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. See a Cast Member at the attraction for more information.
To Use Rider Switch:
1. Check that Rider Switch is offered at the attraction in question by asking a Cast Member.
2. Enter the normal queue with your entire party. At least one adult member of your party and the Guest who will not be riding will then be issued a Rider Switch Pass and asked to wait in a designated area. This group is “Party 2.”
3. The remaining party members, “Party 1,” ride the attraction.
4. After riding the attraction, Party 1 locates Party 2. The non-rider is then “switched” to Party 1.
5. Party 2 enters without having to wait in the regular queue a second time and boards the attraction. The Rider Switch Pass must be presented to a Cast Member at this time.
If the person in Party 2 waited alone with the child, he or she may bring one Guest back to ride the attraction with him or her. Please note: Only 2 Guests are allowed per Rider Switch Pass.
