Now where can we enjoy a cigar?

With Fuego closing in September :arghh:, where could my wife and I go to enjoy a cigar and drink a night or 2? I know that cigar smoke bothers a lot of people and I try not to disrupt anyones vacation. We are staying at BWV this trip, so would sitting in any of the smoking sections on the Boardwalk be a fair place (assuming I bring my own cigars from home)? Is there anywhere on the Boardwalk where we can take an alcoholic beverage out with us?

Any other suggestions on where to enjoy a cigar at night?

TIA! :D

I have NO idea! I don't personally smoke at all, but I love the smell of cigars way more than cigs.

Good luck, BUMPING back to top

First off, kudos to you for caring about others and where you smoke. ;)

Second, the only place I know of is Corona Cigar Company World Headquarters at 7792 W. Sand Lake Road, right outside of WDW.

Is Fuego the place that was in DTD? Because I thought there was a place their but don't know the name.
I would think that the smokin area at your resort would be a good place, fair game for smoking of any legal sort!

That's how my wife was. Then she started to take a puff or 2 while I would have one. Recently she started to want her own.

Thank you. I know if more smokers of either cigars or cigarettes cared, it wouldn't be as hot of a topic as it is (and more often than not those of us who actually try to co-exist tend to go unnoticed). I know that smoking of anything is a real hot button with a lot of people. Many feel strongly one way or the other. For me, I guess it comes down to me not wanting to bother someone else just as much as I don't want to hear about it from someone else. So on one hand I am genuinely nice for really not wanting to intrude on someones vacation and on the other hand I am totally selfish in just wanting to have my cigar in peace. :joyfull:

Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into that. We are not huge fans of going off property once we are there, but it might be something to consider.

Yes. Fuego is the cigar bar in DTD. Their lease is up in September and Disney is not offering them a chance to renew, no doubt for the DTD expansion. I would also think that any smoking area would be fine, but cigars and cigarettes have very different smoke, so I didn't know if it's generally ok to smoke a cigar in those areas or if it's frowned upon.

I am an other one who does not mind the smell of cigars as much as the smell of cigarettes. You can smoke them in any of the smoking areas, and you can walk around Boardwalk with your beverage of choice as well.

I have tried to like cigars - lord knows why - but I have tried.

I enjoy single malts, I enjoy red wine (and white), all kinds of cheese, pickled fish ... all sorts of things that are an "acquired taste". I have smoked cheap cigars, I have smoked good cigars, I have friends from Cuba and I have smoked what are supposed to be awesome cigars. They all still taskte like burning garbage to me. Go figure.

So enjoy your cigar in the designated smoking area. You wont get any flack from me, but I will still wonder how you enjoy those things.

It's an acquired taste I guess. lol. I am not a cigar connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination, but I just find something about a nice cigar and a good drink (preferably Creek) very relaxing. To each their own I guess.

Do you have any suggestions as to where on the Boardwalk would be the best place to get a drink to go?

You can get drinks to go at the Belle Vue Lounge, at the pool bar, or at Boardwalk Joe's, which serves pre-mixed margaritas. If you want more options and a little bit of a longer walk, there's the Cabana Bar at the Dolphin. They also have a few cigars on the menu.

Cigars are big business, large cigar sales went up 200%+ over the last few years. I'm only a very occasional smoker, but they are tasty with the right drink.
