Oh Mickey what did they do to you?!?

Okay this one just makes me rather uncomfortable to see..But, I found this shot of Mickey that they are using for the film Saving Mr. Banks...And it blows my mind seeing how disturbing this version of Mickey looks...

I know they were trying to give the character the way he looked in the 1960's but, I think they exaggerated too much on his ears...I mean come on even the famous picture shows that the one with him and Walt looks like the one we see today..

What are your thoughts on this?

The first picture gives me nightmares and the second one is just odd. The head is way too big.

Even odder is the movie That Thing You Do..There is a scene where one of the Band members of The Wonders goes to Disneyland during the 1960's and yet they used the Mickey & Goofy we normally see but with their old clothing on...

And let's not forget Mickey being attacked by the Flying Monkey's in A Christmas Story..Which is Suppose to take place in 1939-1940...And they are using the 80's style Mickey lol..

He DVR'd one of the new cartoons from over the weekend and we argued about whether it was truly new or not because it was done to look old-ish and the characters just looked hideous that I thought it had to be really, really old. According to the Original Air Date stamped on the cable review, it was new as of June 2013. What is going on?

just watched a clip from one of these...i see they were trying to go for a "classic" feel but sort of modern too. I felt like Mickey's voice was kind of different or just didn't seem right as well.

At first I thought it was off...I was thinking Brett Iwan was trying to mimick Walt's version of his voice..Then I found out who it was. Mickey's voice in the new shorts is voice by actor Chris Diamantopoulos..http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0224565/
