Been looking for a good Disney forum and I think Ive found it. I love everything Disney and now I have a place where I can share my love for Disney with other people that love it as well. I'm a 25 year old husband and father of two. Ive been to Disney World twice and I can truly say that the place is magical. It has been 8 years for me, and now that I have two daughters I am ready to return and experience the magic through their eyes. My wife has also never been so Im excited to take her and watch her reaction to it all, and we have planned to go in late January 2014. I know you guys don't really care to hear about all that but I'm excited to have some good discussion with all of you and to maybe get some tips from those who have went recently. Anyways, its nice to be here and I look forward to chatting with all of you.

Great to have you join us. We don't mind the family description, it lets us get to know you better. Lots and lots of information to scan through here and wonderful posters ( just try to ignore the ones that are all doom & gloom ;) ) who can give fascinating discussions, tips, humor, advice and answers to problems. Fantastic photos and trip reports when you need a quick look at WDW when you're missing being there. Click around and have fun.

Welcome! This is the best Disney forum, IMO! You picked a good one. :) Most of the posters here are awesome - very nice & knowledgeable!

Your January trip sounds wonderful. As someone who also loved Disney before I had my daughter, I can indeed say that it's very different now seeing it through her eyes. Very magical! You will love it!

People here love hearing about family & trip details. After your trip, head to the Trip Reports section and write about your experiences. The most detailed trip reports are the best, because they make the rest of us feel like we're there, haha. Have fun on the boards!!

We are staying a pop century from Jan24th-Jan31st. The last two times Ive been to Disney it was in July and it was super hot and crowded, but I still enjoyed my time. I figured that my wife and kids would get a better experience when it is less crowded and cooler. I think the average high in Orlando in January is 75 degrees so that would be perfect and good enough for some of the water rides. My dad goes once or twice a year and says this is a pretty good time to go. We live 8 hours away so we will be driving in and getting there on the afternoon of the 24th, and we plan on going to downtown Disney the first night, and we will go to the MK on the 25th, Epcot on the 26th, Animal Kingdom on the 27th, a day off to do shopping and stuff on the 28th, Disney Studios on the 29th, and on the 30th we are gonna pick a park the kids want to go back to, probably the MK again. we will head back on the 31st probably mid-day (that will be the sad part lol). Overall its 8 days and 7 nights. That will have us coming back on a Friday so we will have the weekend to look at everything we did and get our bodies prepared for the "Real World." It cant get here fast enough that's for sure but it will be here soon enough. I cant wait to see my girls (7 and 5) faces light up when they walk into the Magic Kingdom for the first time.

Welcome! You certainly found the best Disney forums. The others out there can't even take a hit, sometimes disney isn't perfect. Although while here, you may run into the people that make you question why they joined a Disney Forum, but the appear only on negative forums. However, the people here are still funny, open minded, VERY knowledgable and welcoming to our little online family ;). You will slowly find yourself getting on these forums a lot, and randomly getting Its a Small World Stuck in your head.

Have fun on your future trip! :D

Welcome!! You are going to really love this site. From a self-proclaimed Disney fanatic who has been multiple times each year since birth, this forum still taught me quite a bit and continues to. Enjoy!

We will be there right after you. Going from 1/31-2/8/14, and staying at the Boardwalk. My kids are 2 years old, boy/girl twins. They have been once before, but I'm not sure they got much out of it, they were very young, so like you I am excited to see their faces light up when they see the castle and meet their favorite characters. We picked January hoping for cool weather also. We went in October last year and it was HOT, I'm sure not July hot but still too hot for us.

I love that you have your days planned out already, just like I do! Nice to know I am not the only one. ;) Have you checked out disneyfoodblog.com or touringplans.com? Both have helped me plan a lot in the past.

Have you told your girls you are going yet?

Yes we have but they don't quite understand what they are in store for. They are excited though and ask me everyday when we are leaving.

I'm gonna check those sites out for sure. We are preparing but can't book yet until the rates for 2014 come out next month. We will probably go ahead and book in late July or sometime in August. It may be early but I'm ready to put it in stone that we are going.

We will be sad about leaving when you guys will be all smiles. What time do you plan on getting there that Friday. I'm guessing you are flying.

Oh boy, that is going to be a lot of days of asking! Then once you get home all you will hear is "When are we going back, Dad?" :)

Make sure you make your dining reservations at 180 days out. I have a month before I need to make mine so you're probably about 3 weeks away from needing to make yours. We booked already even though discounts are not out, they can apply the discounts to your room you just need to call when the time comes. I wanted to have the room booked so that I can make my dining reservations all at once. I suggest doing this if you can.

Yup we are flying. It will be the kids first time flying. I am very nervous about that! So jealous you live so close! We bought tickets last week and we will be arriving at MCO around 3:30pm, so I am hoping to be at the Boardwalk by 5:30. We are taking the Magical Express from the airport. Then it is off to Beaches & Cream for a quick dinner, a first for us, and Epcot for a short evening.

Have you ordered the planning DVD from the Disney World site? That would give your kids a great look in to what they are in for, and get them excited.
