I just created this thread so that us WDW fans could enjoy seeing some sweet vintage park merchandise! I welcome all to come and share stories and photos on how they got their items.
I have just a few items to share:
I got this Figment Piggy Bank from my parents from their first trip to Walt Disney World in 1986. Ever since then, my Mom has been obsessed with Figment! I remember how upset she was when they refurbished the ride back in 2001.
I remember getting this pin back in 1999 when I first went to Disneyland in California. This is when I first started pin collecting.
I remember my Dad bribing me to go on Countdown to Extinction back in '99. I was terrified at the time, and my dad said if I went on, he would buy me a new pin. So I went on and nearly peed my pants (the ride was so much scarier back then!) and I got myself this pin.
My uncle worked at the World back in '81 when he got this button. He recently just mailed this to me as a late birthday present. This is definitely going on my lanyard!
It's not that rare, but I remember buying these during The Year of a Million Dreams (another pointless Disney promotion.) I remember all those times I humiliated myself by turning on the strobes. I haven't used these in a while!
No I'm not a D23 member, but I've managed to scout this one out on a Cast Member a few years back. It gets the most compliments out of all my pins. Even my Keys to the Kingdom tour guide made a fuss over it.
Finally, I don't know who this little fella is. He's probably not rare, but maybe someone on these forums could refresh my memory of who he is.
Now I invite you to share some vintage or special merchandise!
