My friend proceeded to tell me WDW is only for little kids

I proceeded to roll my eyes, yell a little, and then lecture him.
I love him, but can't look at him the same way.

Anyone else get bugged when people say this?
It happened to me just this morning, my neighbor asked where I was going and after I said Disney the response was well I guess you have to stop there for a day while you're in Florida you have kids:eek: I'm just glad their dog is nice.

This happened a lot when I was in middle school. A lot of the kids would say, "Oh, Disney is for babies." I would just give them this look and walk away. Now if anyone says that to me, I'll say, "If that's true, then why did my parents go every year for nine years before having kids?"

I had one friend who told me that my first trip when I was five months old was a waste of money because I don't remember it and the purpose of taking your kids to Disney is to make memories. I told him they weren't going for me; they were going for them; I just happened to be along for the ride, and that I've got plenty of memories to make up for it.

I didn't know kids (or children rather) walked around a giant man made lake... proceeding to consume alcoholic beverages from different nation, enjoying food and treats, and possible making irresponsible and impulse purchases of small and large goods....

yeah, totally sounds like a kid time

That type of ignorance has been around for a very long time.

I remembered my Mom winning a WDW trip in 1991. Some of my 6th grade classmates told me at the time after finding out my Mom won the trip that WDW is too old for me. The classmates told me at the time that Six Flags is better.

I learned to ignore those types of comments about WDW being to old for me.

After the flames of rage have subsided from my eyeballs, I just calmly pull out my phone and Google search for those people all of the cool things in WDW that there is to do for the older crowds. Then I make them feel like a deprived child who has been lied to for all these years. It's fun seeing their expression.

That is somewhat true here lately.

What happened to Top of the World, Cocktail and Midnight Cruises? There's the princess craze here lately too. There is still a lot of things to do for adults at WDW though.
