Lack of promotion?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE getting free dining, but does anyone else find it odd that Disney isn't really promoting it? Well, I haven't seen any commercials for it, that's for sure. Every other year I've seen at least 10-12 commercials a day advertising FD. I guess that's just further proof that they're trying to cut it out. What are your thoughts?

I've seen very little about the promotion. I believe I first saw it when I was pricing rooms on the website.

I must be watching the right (wrong?) channels, because I see those commercials constantly. Maybe they just don't think that Duck Dynasty Marathon viewers are their target audience.

I have seen the commercials, but can't remember what channel....(I will admit to watching TV LAnd and Hallmark alot. Don't judge!)

I have seen the commercials. I'm sure they run more the closer they get to the deadline to give people a sense or urgency and also because they want to trick people into paying full price who aren't knowledgeable about the "Special Offers" tab on the website or know that you can get the discount after you book (myself circa 2008).

I was thinking that they might not start showing commericals for the FD promotion, until the promotion for up to 30% off resorts June 13 through August 14 is up

Most likely they don't need to, especially since it's only for 3 weeks.

The 30% has a larger span of travel dates.

I haven't seen any commercials for FD, only passholder emails and other types of promotion.

FD has it's pros and cons, since I don't have a family it isn't worth it for me.

Hey I watch Duck Dynasty and take multiple trips during the year. Don't judge. (Although I see what you're saying, I think.) I don't see why they wouldn't advertise during this show since Disney does own 50% of A&E. But anywho, I can say Cartoon Network (not Adult Swim) is on in my house a majority of the day and they are advertising the crap out of Universal.

Only commercials we're getting here are for summer discounts up to 30%. Not even a mention of the fall discounts that are an option if you don't want to do free dining. hmmmmm...........

Well, when some deluxe resorts are at capacity.. I think TDO assumes guests don't need "free" to vacation.

ESPN and TBS here. Plus, the tv in the break room at work stays on ESPN. The only commercial I've been seeing is still the 30% summer promo.

I thought that at first, but then it wouldn't leave much room for people who can't pay all at once. And we know how important it is for Disney to sponge every penny they can from all possible people.

Idk, when free dining was annonced a number of people moved their dates around to get that FD. I hope that only offering FD for Sept doesn't turn Sept into the worst month to go!
