Best Advice for a Rainy Trip

My solo portion of my Disney trip is from June 6th to 10th which currently is calling for 10 hours total of sunshine and 80-100% chance of rain everyday...I know, welcome to June in Florida.

I am still hoping to get some good photos and take part in some Disney fun. I have a rain coat for myself, a rain coat for my camera and trying to keep a positive attitude. Just was wondering - since I haven't been to Florida in June since I worked there in the late 90's - is the rain this time of year those sudden showers that last an hour or so or am I expecting rain all day?

Also, will the Star Wars Parade and the Hyperspace Hoolpa still go on if it's raining? If someone can tell me the parade route and suggest a good spot to stake out that would be great as well.

I'm hoping the rain keeps many tourists away. I plan to keep trucking along.

Any tips for enjoying some rainy days at the parks would be appreciated. I'd really like to make the best of this trip. If you want to read this thread you'll see why...

I have never let the Florida rain get me down! Usually the storms come out of no where and last 30 min and move on. Hopefully that's what that forecast means. Last time I went we rode splash mtn in the rain. I mean we were going to get wet anyway! I did bring extra clothes for my son so he didn't have to stay wet after the rain which I was thankful for! It's also a great time to enjoy the shows and attractions that are inside that I normally don't take the time to do. We do things like The Enchanted Tiki Room, Philhar Magic, many indoor attractions at Epcot, also One Man's Dream and less popular attractions. People do leave the park sometimes when it rains so that may help with the lines. Bring your rain coats/ ponchos with you because they are expensive in the parks!

Sounds you have a pretty good handle on it already. A few years ago I was there for a few days in October and it rained everyday pretty much non stop. The parks were dead. Obviously that will mess up a lot of the outdoor rides, but whatever, do what you can.

As far as photo work goes.....tripod, lots of dry microfiber clothes (each in there own baggy) and a filter, either an ND or a polarizer. Practice 1-5 second shots. Theres something very dramatic about the subtle movements of dark skies behind things that are normally seen with blue skies behind them. Remote shutter release also. Plan to explore every nook of every indoor area too.

But in the end I think you know what youre doing, you just need confirmation from others, which you have.

I have only visited Florida in late may and early June. Your worries are NOTHING! :D It will rain for maybe an hour in little spouts of about 10 minutes, these little spouts can last up to 3 hours, I just recommend making the run for your next attraction during those lite moments of rain. Disney does usually rain everday in June, but again its nothing bad. The waterparks typically aren't worried in June, so if it starts a little sprinkle and you are in line for Summit plummit, they won't stop running it. It will be cloudy but on lucky days you may see Sunshine.

10 hours out of 13 hours of daylight :) Your okay, again it WILL rain but not a lot :D

Actually it's 10 hours total over a 5 day period. Still not going to let it "dampen" my spirits though.

You might get quick bursts of rain and it might rain for hours. Doesn't usually, but it could rain all day.

If its going to be sunny, that will usually happen earlier in the day, with the storms rolling in between three and seven p.m.

If there is no lightening, tromp through the rain and do what you want to do! If you have shoes that don't absorb water, wear them. If not, bring and extra pair or two.

And have fun!

ATTENTION ATTENTION!!!!

It never rains at WDW.

That is all, carry on....

Rain, heck it's only H²O from the sky, just start singing in the rain, and imagine it to be your morning or nightly shower... You do take showers or baths...... right?
