Things you weren't happy about Disney doing, but grew to like.

I remember visiting Disney the year they started working on building Down Town Disney. As I wasn't online back then and coming from the UK, I had no idea they were even planning on building more there. I was very used to the marketplace, pleasure island and cinema being there, but that was it. Then all of a sudden one year heading to the marketplace from the Typhoon Lagoon direction I saw all the felled trees and building equipment there

I'll be honest, I was absolutely mortified at the sight. For me the 'coziness' of the Marketplace being 'hidden away' from everything bar Hotel Boulevard had gone. Instead I thought this is too much, it's going to look tacky and I thought that stretch of road where the trees had once stood had once and forever been ruined by the planners.

However once it was completed I actually began to like it and took it all back. The sight of the Cirque theatre as you round that bend near Typhoon Lagoon is now a picture of beauty to me. It's become one of many iconic images in my mind of Disney and we always go on the first day of our vacation where Mrs Mergatroid now traditionally buys me a box of 12 fudges of my choice from the Candy Couldron

So have any of you ever thought "What are they doing that for" or "That looks terrible" only to discover later that they actually got it right?

American Idol Experience. I hated it then because HS called itself getting rid of Fantasmic! and limiting it to special nights while AIE got a end of day show billing. Well AIE has failed and Fantasmic! is back on scedule, lol.

I really hated that the Disney Institute was torn down- I truly believe it was under marketed. However, I LOVED staying at Saratoga Springs, and I love the spa as well :)

I wasn't happy about tearing up Residential Street to make way for Lights Motors Action.

But LMA is pretty fun. Even if they DID build it backwards, allowing us to see the New York City skyline (not to mention that godawful blue hat) popping up behind what's supposed to be a seaside marketplace in France....
