Great Trip

Just back from one of our best trips ever. We spent eight magical days together in our favorite place. We tried many new things and have added great memories to our Disney experiences.

Day one: Checked into Beach Club around 6pm and headed into EPCOT. My wife has always wanted to eat at Tangierine Cafe, so off we went. The food here was tasty, but the chicken had a lot of fat on it.
We started with our traditional ride on Spaceship Earth and then on to Soarin where the standby time was only 10 minutes. We walked around world showcase and took in many of the garden displays. We headed back to our room so we could get an early start at Hollywood Studios.

Day two: Up early, had breakfast in room and out the door. I always wanted to try the walk to HS from Beach Club but never have until now. It was a nice walk, very quiet and peaceful, until we spotted the snake on the side of the path. I snapped a picture and my 12 year old daughter set a new running record.

We entered the park and got FP's for Toy Story Mania. We met up with my parents and the kids got to experience the parks with them for the first time. We had a great day and had our one and only rain storm for the week. We had dinner at 50's prime time. The food was pretty good, but the entertainment was fantastic! Our waiter Loukili was amazing. He had us in stitches all night. He caught my wife texting and made her sing little teapot in front of everyone. After dinner, we went back to Beach Club to enjoy Storm along bay.

Day three: Mothers day in WDW. We spent most of the day in EPCOT. We had dinner at Teppan Edo. Great chef who posed with us for some funny pictures behind the grill. After dinner, we headed for Magic Kingdom. We took the monorail to TTC and had to transfer to a boat as the monorail had broken down. The boat was another new experience for the kids. They loved it and I felt bad for neglecting them of this never before used transportation.

We entered the Magic Kingdom and met a great security officer. He saw my daughters EPI pen in my bag and told us if we had any problems or needed anything to immediately flag a uniformed officer down and they would transport us immediately to a medical facility.

We went to the new Fantasyland. It is very nice and we look forward to the 7 dwarves mine ride. The park was open until 1 am and we tried very hard to experience as much as we could.

Remaining days to follow.

Day four: My wife's birthday. We spent the day at Blizzard Beach. We all had a blast. We hadn't been here in a while. Glad we did though because my daughter ages out on the iceberg walk after this trip. We met a great cast member here who was in charge of locating lost children(we didn't lose any). Weather was very nice and park wasn't too crowded even though Typhoon Lagoon was closed.

We headed back to beach club and got ready for birthday dinner at Kouzzina. One of my favorite meals of the week. Very knowledgeable waiter and Sergio the chef came to the table to meet us concerning my daughters food allergy. He even offered to specially prepare my meal and it was fantastic. My kids and I had ordered a cake from Disney to be delivered at the end of the meal. The waiter was handing us desert menus and my kids were giving me the 'look.' I quickly typed a discreet message on my Iphone and showed it to the waiter posing it as a question about olive oil. He didn't miss a beat and returned shortly with the cake and a candle.

Now I must tell you I grew up on cake. My mother and her friend have owned a cake business since I was 6 years old. It takes a lot to impress me with cake. I can tell you that the cake we ordered was the best I ever had. I even told my mom that it was the outstanding. The great thing about staying at the beach club was that I was able to take the leftover cake back to the fridge. It was enjoyed everyday of the week.

After dinner, my daughter wanted to go to HS so off we went for EMH. It was nice to spend some alone time with her. My wife and son went back to swim some more as we were moving to Bay Lake the next morning.

Day 5: Up early and got bell services to transfer bags. We went to EPCOT until lunch and then over to Magic Kingdom until closing. We had dinner at Be Our Guest. It was very good and the theming is amazing. I can confirm that the gray stuff is indeed delicious! My wife also says that the tangled bathrooms are very nice. Another great day, but also the same day that my kids realize that Goofy's Barnstormer isn't as great a ride as they remember. A little sad about that as my kids are growing up too fast. The kids were also tall enough to drive TomorrowLand speedway by themselves. Today is also the day that my son hit 999,999 on Space Ranger Spin. I guess it helps if you ride this six times before 9:30 am.

Day 6: I am starting to get worried as I can see our trip is entering the final stages. Today is another new experience day. We went to Kona for Tonga Toast. Everybody loved it. Our waiter was from a neighboring town back home. After breakfast we jumped on the bus for Animal Kingdom. We did It's tough to be a bug for the first time. We then checked in for the Wild Africa Trek. This was one of the best experiences of the week. It is a top notch tour. We felt like we had the Savannah to ourselves. Lunch was good. Guides were great and very enthusiastic. We got some amazing photos. We went on to get soaked on Kali River Rapids. Then on to Expedition Everest for three times. Back to Bay Lake where we had deep dish pizza from Giordano's. A piece of cake for desert and then back to Magic Kingdom. We rode 'Buzz" some more. My son hit 999,999 two more times I managed to do it also. We left the park early to see Wishes from the top of Bay lake tower.
