And if you have an ice cream maker...you can even make it at home. There are a handful of online sellers who sell the dry mix.

Oh - and I perused the nutritional info...1/2 cup serving = 80 calories. 17g sugar 18g carb 15mg sodium 0 fat

For anyone in the Boston area-- Kell's Cream at Revere Beach or the Square One Mall in Saugus have Dole Whips. :D

Really?!?!?!?! We live in NY but will be in Boston this summer overnight and plan to have dinner at the Hilltop Steakhouse in Saugus (a favorite restaurant of my hubby's from his college days). Is Square One Mall near there?

Yes they're both on route 1. The one on the beach is near there too, and may be more convenient if you don't want to walk around the mall (its a kind of crappy mall) if thats all you're going for. You can get to Revere Beach very easily from Route 1, where Hilltop is, just go Route 1 South take the Revere exit where it splits off to the right near the movie theater, then take the second exits at the next two rotaries and follow the signs for the beach, it will be going towards the Lynn side not Winthrop. If you put it in a GPS or look up directions it will be very easy for you to get to either one from Hilltop.

Edit: Also just to let you know, I work on the Freedom Trail in Boston, so if you need help getting around or ideas for things to do let me know! :D

Thank you so much! We're heading to Boston for my hubby and DS to see a Red Sox game (DD and I are going along for the trip although we're not baseball fans). We always hit Regina's Pizza for lunch. Then after the game, we're heading to Saugus for dinner and staying overnight in that vicinity. We'll definitely have to fin some DOle Whips for dessert!

OK, maybe this picture has been circulated before and I missed it (and if so, I apologize), but this was making its way around my department at work today. Naturally, only a few people even knew what it was, but is this for real? I wouldn't even know where to begin with making such a towering whip. I feel like it's some kind Urban Dole Whip Legend!

Yes my DGS6 created that last November at Captain's Cook when his mom and I weren't looking... why that woman at the cash register gave him the cup to do it himself we will never know...

No problem! Pizzeria Regina is the best! I actually live in Saugus, so we get takeout from there a lot haha.

Dole Whip is a soft serve frozen dessert available most notably at Disneyland at Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room originally, and later at Walt Disney World (at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom, and Captain Cook's at the Polynesian Resort),[1] as well as at Dole Plantation [2] and Unified Enterprises Corp. in Hawaii.[3] It is also available at mainland Lappert's Ice Cream stores. Also served at Menchies Frozen Yogurt [4] Starting with the 2013 Season the product will be available at Six Flags Parks as well.

I've wondered this too but from what I understand, the actual Dole Whip is just soft served and that is what they will give you when you order a Dole Whip. There is a Dole Whip with pineapple juice. That is what you are thinking of.

I'd personally recommend the Dole Whip! This thread in combination with just having cut up some pineapple to take to work for my lunch with me tomorrow has given me definite Dole Whip cravings!

so for a first timer.. which do you guys recommend? just the dole whip or the float? they both look great!

If you really like the taste of pineapple, the float is really refreshing. And when you finish the soft serve, the juice is like a little bonus treat, lol.

If you're just looking for something refreshing, I'd go with the soft serve.

And if you want the refreshment of the Dole Whip without the pineapple flavor, go for the Citrus Swirl instead :)
