14 days to go and just added 3 ADRs

I think I'm getting a little excited and antsy because I just booked three additional ADRs- Coral Reef, Boatwright's, and Kona. Anyone have any input on any of the three? Also that brings our total ADRs to 6 for a 6 day trip. Starting to think maybe we should do the dining plan instead, but have never done that before.

We did Coral Reef 2 years ago and loved it. Kona is one of our favorites and we're doing it again this trip. We have 9 ADR's for our 8 day trip (including one on each of our travel days), so I don't think you've gone overboard at all! We're not doing the dining plan either, as we found it would actually cost a bit more than OOP.

Found DDP costs us more than doing it ourselves...unless you're eating the most costly meal at EVERY restaurant and everyone in your party will be eating the same thing...the numbers didn't work for us. We've got a 4 day trip coming up, with 3 ADRs thus far...working on a 4th.

Thanks! I estimated about how much we would spend at each one and the QS places too and it was WAY less than the dining plan.

I really like Coral Reef. Quite beautiful inside, with the lighting and the aquarium view.
Though, I wonder sometime. I have no problem eating seafood in front of a giant tank full of fish.
Would I feel the same about eating a meal in front of a pen filled with chickens or cows?

We ate at the Coral Reef in Dec 2010 and all 4 of us we were all disappointed with our food. I don't remember exactly what we ordered except my mom orders everything plain, no sauces because of food issues. We had to send her food back, it took for ever and the server acted like we were a pain to wait on us.

We like them all. We've had four meals and the Coral Reef and have loved each one. I remember one in particular, I was in a foul mood and kind of down on everything. Claimed there was nothing on the menu that would suit what I wanted, but as soon as the food was put in front of me, the clouds parted and I was cheerful again.

Boatwright's was such a sleeper hit for us in 2011 that we made it a point to return again in 2012. In fact, it was one of the reasons we chose Riverside for our last stay. The menu recently changed a little, but it still looks great.

I don't think that the Kona Café is the end-all, best-breakfast-ever that some people do, but we quite like it for dinner. The sushi menu and the pineapple bread are reason enough to visit at dinnertime.

Good to hear! And we are going to Kona for dinner so that's perfect! I really wanted to go for the Tonga Toast at breakfast, but it didn't fit into our schedule so dinner it is!
