Staying on property & ADR's....

Anyone else out there who think, like me and my DBFF LisaLynn, that if you stay on property you should be able to make your ADR's even one day ahead of people staying off property?

In a way you already can. With a Disney resort reservation you can make up to 10 days worth of reservations from your arrival date. Someone off property would have to call back at 180 days from day 2, 180 days from day 3 and so on.

Yeah, but if you're trying to make a hard to get ADR (like CRT) you're competing with all on day 180. I think if you choose to stay on WDW grounds that would be a great perk for the extra money you're spending.

I second Master Yoda. You're only on even footing with the off-site people for one day: the first day of your vacation. If you make all your ADRs 180 days out from your arrival day, you'll be ahead of the non-Disney-resort-groundlings in making ADRs for every subsequent day of your trip.

I do agree with you, however, that in general there should be more and better perks for staying on-site. 181 days for ADRs for on-siters might not be too much to ask (although I don't see it happening) -- especially since they're jacking up prices on all of the resorts while at the same time paring down extra magic hours, whittling away the other advantages of staying on-site!

I dunno. I'm just in a mood.:( I guess I'm just referring to BOG. But, people who stay on property should have 1st dibs to the "good" restaurants/the most popular ones. I know that's not fair to those off property, but I wish there was a way to stop the "hoarding" of those ADRs!

The trick it to schedule the more popular dining toward the end of a trip. The $10 deposit did a pretty good job of curbing hoarding. BOG will calm down a little once the shine wears off. Even though most of us have been back multiple times since it opened, many people are just seeing the new FL for the first time. I think it will always be akin to Ohana or CM, but it should get a little better come 2014-2015.

Especially if they make it 2 credits like CRT, which I absolutely forsee.

We were pretty shocked on our April 15-24 trip .... high park levels, but the hotels were virtual GHOST TOWNS (except for the cheapies). Disney has to launch a full scale WAR to get these populated.... it's pretty obvious that a whole bunch MORE folks are staying off site.

Were you basing this on who you saw around the resorts? or do you have inside info to the occupancy levels?

Just because the halls and pool are empty doesn't mean the resort isn't at high occupancy - especially if there were high park levels - that tells me the guests were in the parks.

it's pretty obvious that a whole bunch MORE folks are staying off site.
There are tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands MORE hotel rooms offsite than onsite. The key statistic is the occupancy level.
