World Cuisine's At Epcot!

Good Saturday Morning All. Well as usual,I'am watching Saturday Morning Kitchen,a TV food show. Ive a old saying that sums me up. " I don't eat to live,I live to eat." I love trying different countries cuisine's when on vacation,but which country at Epcot represents your favourite food..Now Ive only eaten at five of the eleven countries but my favourite was dining at Via Napoli for several reasons.I loved the hustle & bustle atmosphere,and watching the chefs put the pizza into those three huge pizza ovens,Stromboli,Etna,& Vesuvius,( I hope that's correct ) and the food & wine made it a great dining experience. And it was our cheapest ADR by a long way.( typical Scots ) .So which country at Epcot brought it all home to you.Food,Drink,Ambience.Etc. ? ;)

Please don't make me choose just one. Italian food brings me back to my youth. I love the lightness of oriental cuisine, the spices of Mexico and Morrocco both equally exciting in their own way! The baked goods in France and Norway just typing makes my mouth water. My boys love the German food and Fish and chips (my home made are better) so how can you expect me to pick on country's food over another. Well there's only one way to choose the winner is France! The Grey Goose slushie for the win:D

No!No!No!...:mad: Not you surely. Tell me I'am wrong but your not one of those tourists that go abroad and look for a " English Breakfast " or somewhere that does a " Sunday Roast ". I had a friend who was in his forties and went abroad to Italy for his first foreign holiday,when he came home I asked how he enjoyed his time..Great,he said,hotel served great food like chicken & chips,pie & chips,sausage & chips,etc,every night.What about Italian food I asked? Oh no,he said,wouldn't touch that foreign stuff.:eek:

Thought traditional british food was chinese takeaway or indian nowadays :eek:
We do like to eat at new places and have tried most of world showcase. However with a maily lowcarb diet this year its going to be a bit more interesting finding places to eat :confused:
And i all honesty most of what they serve @ the rose and crown isnt what we would eat day for day proir to changing how we eat

Hatter, you should know me well by now... F&W is an absolute MUST DO for us, and although I haven't eaten at several of the Epcot restaurants, it's not one TS restaurant that I gravitate to, its Yorkshire County Fish Shop!! LOL Biergarten was alot of fun, Le Cellier, we love (lots of memories) La Hacienda is one of our new restaurants this year. Teppan Edo is son's fav. As long as I'm walking thru WS, they're ALL good :)

That's tough. My favorite cuisines that are represented in Epcot are American, Chinese, Japanese and UK.

I've tried Chinese food in Epcot and to me, it wasn't all that impressive. Then again, many Asian-Americans share a sentiment that Americans butcher the cuisine and Americanize it like put too much salt, soy sauce, etc. My father often jokes that one way to know if Chinese food is good or not is to peek through the kitchen window and see if it's prepared by non-Asian chefs in the kitchen. American food is well, American food so that really doesn't need much explanation. I haven't tried Japan or the UK's food at Epcot but I really like sushi and teriyaki in general for Japanese food and I really love fish and chips from the UK. One day, I will try the legendary fish and chips at YCFS! Mark my words! Plus Sunday Roast with Yorkshire Pudding sounds like something I would eat. Never had it myself but the meal components I would eat without problems. I've had shepperds pie/cottage pie in the past and enjoyed it so Rose and Crown pub would also fit me. But one country I really want to try is Germany. I haven't been exposed to German food but I mean, sausages and schnitzels are foods I should like and be interested in.

I always see posts on threads about this where people say that they prefer a certain cuisine because it's part of their ancestral background or whatever, but I'm afraid that's not the case for me. My fiancé and I are Italian-Americans, though our families are from entirely different regions of Italy. Neither of us care for the Italy pavilion's offerings because we're so critical of what good Italian food should be. It's so easy to do well, even mass-producing it for a large number of patrons, and we feel that the Patina Group restaurants miss the mark more often than not.

I suppose the food that "brings it all home" for me is the Mexican cuisine at the San Angel Inn. It's not exact, but it's pretty close to the foods I grew up enjoying in California. Obviously, the drink and ambiance are top-notch there too. I'm excited at the possibility that the restaurant might have horchata on the menu when we visit next. It's the one thing I thought was missing on our previous visits.

It's only recently ( 6 months ago ) that Ive enjoyed Japanese food.We have a Japanese restaurant in Glasgow that has the Teppenyaki table ( word meaning hot plate in Japanese ) but very impressed with the flavours and spices used by the chefs.;)
