Allergy Question

So months ago, when I was booking ADRs for the May trip, one of my party was having some mefical issues that the doctors thought might be allergy related. So, not having all the info, I booked online and checked the box for "other allergy." Now we know it was NOT an allergy issue.

Having never dealt with allergy-related requests before, I'm not sure how the restaurants will handle my now-unnecessary request. Should I call and modify those ADRs, or will it be simple enough to tell our server we don't need to talk to the chef?

I would actually call to have the info removed from the ADRs. We've had certain chefs refuse to serve us certain things if erroneous allergy info was on the ADR.
Seriously?? If I don't have the actual allergy type listed and just put it as "other," I kind of wonder based on that if they'd let us eat at all.

Thanks for the response. I couldn't imagine it would make a huge difference if I didn't call, but I guess if they have any reason to think they could get into trouble for serving nsomething they shouldn't, I need to clear it up! :)

You don't have to do anything. The server will ask if there ar any allergies at the time of taking your order. This is now standard procedure. You'll just tell hem no.

This was more what I was expecting, since I've never noted allergies before and they ALWAYS ask. But if it really does come down to them being afraid to serve us (which sounds silly, but I do get it), it's probably worth it to just call and hope they don't cancel my reservations somehow...

Just LOVE the quotes in your signature, btw. I don't think they make shows like Animaniacs anymore.

Ours was shellfish so a bit more specific, but the chef all out refused to serve us shrimp.

That makes sense, but that stinks for you. What a thing to follow you through a vacation...I hope you had some good meals in spite of that!

I'll be calling tomorrow to get it all straightened out so that we'll be hassle-free. Thanks for your help! :)
