Mom's Birthday at Epcot

I'll be in Disney World with my parents and a friend early this summer, and our trip happens to coincide with my mom's birthday, so we've planned to go to Epcot, her favorite park, on that day. I understand that she can get a birthday pin from Guest Relations at the park, but I was wondering if any of you know of other birthday activities/surprises that take place at Epcot (e.g. at certain restaurants) or if you have any stories to share involving CM interactions! I would really like to make it a special day for her! :)
Also, my dad's birthday is a few days afterwards, but it falls on the day we leave to go home- would it be frowned upon to get him a pin to celebrate his birthday as well, even though it won't technically have happened yet?

Sure, grab him a pin as well. You can arrange for birthday cakes, gifts in your resort room, etc. at the WDW site to customize celebrations ahead of time or notify the resort desk CM, or there are other services available online that orders can be taken for things to appear. There are also trading pins available to buy at pin stops that make nice gifts, favorite character, mothers/fathers day etc. Regarding the restaurant, CM servers will see the birthday pins on your parents and can have birthday desserts appear at your table.

The in-room celebrations are awesome but admittedly geared toward kids. Pretty much every restaurant on property will do a special thing for a birthday if it's on the reservation but they are all usually the same... a cupcake with a candle in it. We were celebrating both mine and my son's birthday when we were there a couple weeks ago and we had 4 TS ADRs and each had 4 birthday cupcakes on the trip (in other words, it's pretty dang consistent)... even at breakfast!

One thing I can say is that if you contact the celebrations folks they can do some custom stuff that is awesome. Plus you can also order a special (real) birthday cake to be served at most TS restaurants. We did this on my son's 3rd birthday and had an awesome Mickey-shaped cake come out for him. Your best bet is to start with calling and saying simply that you're curious what ideas they have for how to make your mom's birthday special and I promise you they can run with it from there. That group of folks is really a hidden gem if you ask me. :D

What @JIMINYCR said is the perfect advice!:)

Thank you all so much for your responses so far! We aren't staying on Disney property this time so unfortunately the hotel suggestions won't apply this time, but I will definitely keep them in mind for the future. I might have to make some dinner reservations soon... :)

For me, while I do believe this is just good manners to begin with, when ever I'm in the parks on (or near) my b-day with my pin on, which for reference is the same b-day as Mickey!! When ever a CM says "Happy Birthday James" I always try to comment back with a smile,"Thank You, Bob" or what ever their name is, after all they're wearing a name tag too, that politeness tends to go a long way, I thanked the right person on one trip and ended up getting walked on to a ride and skipping the entire line, it was pretty magical if I do say so myself!! As someone who works in the service industry, kindness and appreciation get you much further than anything else. While I'm pretty sure what happened that one time for me was pretty rare, you never know where that kindness might lead you ;)

You can wear the pins on ANY day. Most people who wear them are not, in fact, celebrating the exact anniversary of their birth. Disney does not frown upon this at all.

Disney sometimes does a little extra for people...and sometimes they don't. With so many people wearing pins all the time, they really can't be doing something extra for all of them.

You can order (and pay for) a cake or some other celebration, though, if you want to be sure mom and dad get a little bonus. :)

I hope your mom has a great day. :)
