Hi everyone. If you have time, take a look at our tentative plans and give advice. First, here are the details. We are young Grandma, (me) adult DD and 5 yo DGD. Me and DD havent been in 13 yrs. First visit for gd! Im hoping my mother, who lives in florida can join us for a few days. What great photos, 4 generations of girls at WDW! But, I digress.
This is a budget trip. We are using 4 day Military Salute tickets with hopping and waterparks and more. Please remember these tickets CANNOT be upgraded to a fifth park day. would love to, but the only way is to pony up $90 a person for a one day tix, not happening :)
We are staying at AS Movies prefered room 6 nights. We are using ME airport shuttle. domestic in on United.
Gd is over 42, under 44 inches tall. We are utilizing stroller for her comfort and so we can traverse parks quickly without stressing or rushing her. Visual: put her in stroller w mickey bar, then power walk from one end of park to other, hee hee :)
Finally, we've discussed and feel Gd loves parades, fireworks, rides, character M &G. We feel she will be bored with passive shows like fest of lion king, but love interactive like Disney Rocks at HS, Turtle Trek and Laugh Floor. Oh and all 3 of us love, love love waterparks!
Finally, did I mention budget trip? Now, please critique our daily plan:

Day 1: Saturday april 13 arrive Mco around 930am. ME to resort, having pre packed carryon, bus it immediately over to waterpark to eat and play till 5 pm close. evening DTD counter service, pin trading, lego store, maybe a balloon ride, early to bed.

Day 2: Sunday april 14 arrive at HS for rope drop. Most recomended park of day by easywdw. Only about 5 attractions here, do those, take in Disney Rocks and the other show, with sophia, doc mcstuffin etc. head back to resort by noon to 1 pm. rest relax, forced nap. Go to Mk around 6 pm. enjoy magic late hours. we are all night owls even gd!

Day 3: Monday april 15. sleep late. go to typhoon lagoon. bring clothes with for later, after TL, take bus from TLstraight to wilderness lodge. Eat CS there, let Gd ride pony, maybe do hay ride, then do campfire with smores. whats best way to get back to ASMo after campfire?

Day 4: Tuesday april 16. Arrive at AK for rope drop. Most recomended park for this day. Stay til noon or 1 pm. only about 5 or so things to hit here, so should be ok if we do RD and have a plan. back to resort rest, nap. MK again for evening

Day 5: Wednesday april 17. RD at Mk. following a tour plan till noon or 1pm, back to resort rest, nap. Evening around 6 pm, you guessed it, MK! how to have Mk tour plans in place in near future.

Day 6: Thurday april 18. Have ADR for princess breakfast at Akersus, Epcot. Epcot most recomended for day. At 9am I volunteer to slip away from breakfast ( I can only handle so much of princessess anyway because they are so much thinner and prettier than me! :) I hot foot to soaring for fp. We use our tourplan to do the few things in Epcot and as usual, leave at 1pm for resort. rest, nap, then dress our little princess. We have a 630pm appointment at BBB in MK for our little princess! it was the ONLY one available our length of stay. we keep calling to get an earlier time, actually on ANY day, but until then, this is what we have. final evening in mk, and now the theme park portion of our tickets are used up.

Day7: Friday april 19. Sleep in. Check bags for ME and check out of resort. Waterpark till4pm. bus back to ASMO for ME bus to airport. 8:20 pm flight out. Whew!!!!

What do yas think? it is really MK heavy, which we do want with a 5 yo. We are looking at crowd levels of mostly 6 and two 5 days. Except for akersus, all meals CS to keep us more flexible. this is also based on perfect incoming flight and perfect weather, haha!!
Thanks so much for reading! Sorry its so long. Plus I kmow we're missing Fantasmic and illuminations, thats ok with us.

I noticed that too. Can the waterparks be used but not count as a Park Day? Does the 4 day ticket mean four days at the main 4 gates?
Your park admissions and water park admissions are separate from each other. If you have a 4 day ticket with the water park option you will have 4 days at the parks and 4 admissions to the water parks and/or Disney Quest.

The way I understand it it is 1 day at any or all parks waterparks included. Where's @Master Yoda when you need him?
I looked on the Disney website, and it's not completely clear to me. It says with a four day ticket, you get four visits total to any of the things that fall under the "ware parks & more" banner, which would include DisneyQuest.

Since Disney quest wouldn't count the same as going to MK, the way I read this is that the water park visits are considered separate form the 4 day tickets for the four main gates.

The water parks and more option of the tix gives us 4 entrances to the "more" option of our choice. All 4 park days and all 4 more options must be used within 14 days of first use, so actually with this plan we would still have an unused "wp and more" option left. Do you all think its too much for a 5 yo? Thanks!

That is a LOT to get in and still get back to the room with time to unwind and fall asleep in a new place. You may find that you can't get up (or will be tired) the next morning for rope drop.

I think you're talking about Fort Wilderness, not the Wilderness Lodge. Two different places. :) They are connected by a long path, though. Again, you're planning to be out late and get up early.

I think it is a good idea to follow late nights with late mornings. Well rested people have more fun than tired, crabby people.

I can't tell you how many kids I see telling their parents that they're tired and want to go back to the hotel...or how many kids I see falling asleep in chairs, leaning on fences or just crying because they've been pushed to exhaustion. And I know none of those parents started out with the plan of making the kids cry!

You know your family best, of course.

Have a great trip!!

That depends on the child my ds at 5 was an open to close comando. He got mad when the parks closed at night saying I'm not tired can't we go on one more ride.

It could be. For my kids its no big deal, if they got tired they could fall asleep anytime or place. My son fell asleep in the stroller during wishes, twice. The noise didn't bother him in the least. My sister in-laws kids would not take to this plan very well. Even with naps, staying out at night was not good for them because they wouldn't sleep unless it was back at the room. That made it hard for the next morning because they were constantly tired and cranky. So its more up to how you feel, you know your kid the best. Just be careful and don't fall into the trap of you missed something (good chance you might) so to make it up you skip some down time. That can put a damper on things real quick with a 5yr old. Have a great trip!

Way too much down time and running back and forth for my tastes. I simply couldn't leave a park for 5 hours each day and do nothing. I counted about 20 hours of mid day time that is "out of park" time. Not to mention the time on the other days.

Less than a half day at Epcot isn't nearly enough time to do everything. I mean Breakfast is going to go until at least 10, then you leave by 1...3 hours in Epcot? I'm barely getting started in there in 3 hours.

not enough time at epcot lol!! but thats just me. it does look like alot of stuff to get accomplished but as long as you can fit rest times in there, everything should be smooth...i prefer one park a day with no going back to resorts...we like to "rest" around 3 pm with a good snack....

If you are going for the pony ride and hay ride then you will want to head to Fort Wilderness Campground on the bus from TL. Once you arrive at the campground you will need to take an internal bus to the Settlement area for the pony rides, hay ride, and QS dining at Crockett's Tavern. Now, if you want to eat at the Wilderness Lodge then go for the pony ride, etc. Go to Wilderness Lodge then catch the small boat over to Fort Wilderness Campground.
