We have been married for 28 years. We have gone on maybe 35-40 vacations ( 3 days or more, not a drive to beach etc). Of those 35-40 vacations we have taken mostly as family...ALL have been to Disney!!. Ohh we might have combined Universal few times with our Disney trip but by in large ALL our vacations have been to The Mouse. How sick is that??? Or is it? We are not rich or anywhere close but can afford our vacations ( usually use my coaching salary) but when it comes time to start planning for the following year it always strts and ends with Disney. I cant really remember anytime when we actually came close to considering anywhere else. We have talked many times about vegas, hawaii, italy, etc but when it came time to spend the money...Disney always wins out.....

I love Disney, but if I had the money, I'd be visiting all sorts of different continents and countries... Even our country. I'd go to Disney maybe a few times a year, but the rest of the time, I'd be outta here, somewhere in Europe, Asia or Africa. Disney is fun but all of my fun doesn't revolve around Disney. There are way too many other options to explore to short myself with Disney. I like trying new things.

I'm supposed to be going to New York this summer (I live in California) and my excitement is at a much higher peak than when I go to Disney, simply because I go to Disney a lot.

We always go to Disney, too. I'd love to go to Paris, London, Rome, and other places around the US, but Disney always steal our hearts. If I had the money I'd be taking a Disney trip and another trip every year. Maybe some day.

Nothing wrong with going to WDW. I have branched out to DL and DLP. That being said, though, there is (and have been to) Gettysburg, DC, Vegas, Gatlinburg, Charleston, Montreal, etc. Expand your horizons on occasion. We just finished a Disney Cruise and are doing another one in August. However, we are not going to the Parks. As much as I love the place but hate to say it, there is more out there than Central Florida.

Pfft. I've accepted our addiction. I don't really want to visit other places at the moment, so WDW it is. Once my kiddos are older, maybe we'll consider it, but I love WDW. : )

We honeymooned at WDW in 1994. I can't even remember what made us choose there, but obviously we both had a strong liking for it at the time.
3 years later, an anniversary trip to WDW, and 9 months later, our favorite Disney souvenir was born.
Her first trip was just shy of her third birthday, and we vowed to go back every three years. Every three years turned into every other year, which then turned into every year.
So we became DVC members. It was a great decision for us although DD14 does not enjoy it as much as we had hoped. She loves the beach, so this summer we are doing 3 nights at Vero Beach after our WDW vacation.
For her Spring Break when she is 16, we are planning to take her and a friend to Siesta Key. I gotta say, as much as I love WDW, I'm looking forward to a relaxing beach vacation.

Living in Florida getting a FL resident discount Disney is the most affortable vacation for us. We are 60 yrs old kids all grown and moved away. We would love to travel other places but the money for us keeps us at Disney. We get a Mon thru Friday yearly pass for $200. We go off season when the resorts have special deals. Too good of a deal to pass up!

We have been on 8 trips since our first in 2002, so almost every year and twice last year! I'd love to see all the Disney parks and it's on my bucket list but flights out of the US are crazily expensive. But we also go a lot of other places like Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg (which cost almost as much as WDW for us), Los Angeles, Michigan, DL, Gulf Shores, Denver, and a few others that I'm probably forgetting.

I'm obsessed with Disney. If people don't like it, they can get over it ;)

We have vacationed other places, we did not take our kids until they were older 11, 9 and 7, so before that time we went a lot of places in the US. For us, right now, WDW is a vacation we can afford. Last year I challenged my husband to find and plan a vacation that would cost us less and he couldn't do it. That being said, vacationing at WDW is much more about how we love the place, not really how affordable it is. So, even if we could go somelace else we most likely would choose to go back to WDW. No regrets, no apologies. Now, if I could get a great PIN code for this fall I would be all for that!

I did that for many yrs. from 1982 to 2007. I went over 15 times a week or more at a time. Were not rich either, but There is MORE to life than Disney World. Not knocking it. But get out and experience more than just that. Last yr. me and my partner was able to go to Oahu Hawaii for 8 days , rental car for 8 days, Stayed in a villa at Marriott's Ko Olina Resort next to Disney Aulani plus round trip airfare for 2 and a 1 hrs helicopter flight over the island for a total of $4000.00. He works for Marriott and we got a great deal from them we had the money to WDW just like I wanted to do it. But I have been so many times and still haven't done everything in all the times I and him have gone. We live 90 mins from the parks and will go next yr. But it will be for a week and we will probably do just MGM and EPCOT and MK. and a water park. Universal and finally after 31 yrs. of going to Orlando I will get to go do Sea World. Right now we pick and choose what we do and don't spend all day at Disney we have our favorites and until they add something maybe a SW land at the studios and more exciting rides to the world this will be the last trip until they do something more that an updated fantasy land. I wished in all the trips I took and don't get me wring I enjoyed all of them especially in the 80's and early 90's it was fun. But then I realized if I stayed home one yr. and did vacations every 2 yrs. I could go do other things that were new to me . Right now Disney is kinda greedy and not that special anymore.

Well let me put it this way, last year we went to Vegas and we had trouble finding things to do. Tried the slots and got bored real fast. Saw a couple of shows, WOW expensive. So we couldn't fill our time doing that. The highlight of our trip was taking a rafting trip down the Colorado. Again, real expensive. After that, we just walked around the strip. Oh yeah we zip lined on Freemont street. All was fun but not as fun as WDW.
