Are We There Yet!

Ok.The big day comes around..The planning is complete and your off.But how long does it take you to get to your resort from your departure,including driving,flying,walking,etc.Do your kids get restless, and keep asking that ever ending question." Are we there yet "..? It takes us approx 34 hours from our house to PORS. ( driving & flying ) ..

Holy cow, that is long. We usually take a 7:30 flight out so we leave the house at 5:45am. Provided the flight takes off on time we land around 10:15. Shuttle, Magical Express, Check in...11:45 am. Hop the bus to Magic Kingdom approx. arrival time 12:15.

We have also taken a 6:30 flight out and have been in the park as early as 11 am.

16 hours door to check in! We drove straight through until this upcoming trip. We will actually stop in Ga. over night and be in DTD for a little shopping before checking in and going to bed by 7ish. We're going to SWW and want to be at the gate by 6am at the latest!

For us it's a long 5 hours. Ten minutes to the airport, wait an hour, 2 hour flight, get off the plane, wait for DME, and boom, we are there! Check in and a t a park by2pm. I love nonstop flights.

It usually takes us around 5 1/2 or 6 hours door to door. We usually take 7am flight,so we leave a little after 530 for airport.Then we touch down in Orlando sometime around 10ish,then head to Magical Express,and at the resort sometime around 11.

Most of the time we fly out at 6:30 and arrive by 8:45 so about 5 hours. This year there was no direct flights and I should have waited bc now they are available In August it will be about 8 hours with our layover

For me vacation begins when my foot is out the door of the house. We also stay at the airport hotel so we don't have to get up as early

ummmm no haters here but it takes us 3 1/2 hours to get there, 4 tops depending if we stop for a quick bite. The last time we made it to the resort, checked in, left our car in front and was there by the EMH AK opening. Granted my DH said never again! But I know how to work him

15 hour drive for us, but we break it up into two days and with a break stop at Daytona Beach to see the ocean.

Oh I forgot to add the boat trip ( only joking ) The reason it takes us that long is the drive from our house to Glasgow airport is about 2 & 1/2 hours.We spend the night at the airport hotel as our flight is an early morning, ( Reqs 3 hrs before check in ) security thing.

If we drive, it takes us 18 hours straight through. If we fly it takes about 3 & 1/2 to 4 hours.

About 6 hours from our front door to our resort. When my son was younger he would get restless on the plane but we always fly Jet Blue which has the TV's and that really helped.

I would totally give up one of our quick trips to allow you a shorter travel time. I can't even imagine the anticipation.

We drive down so it takes us 10 hours if traffic is good!! It's just us two so no kids to ask "are we there"! Our DD flies down to meet us there!

My kids know if that phrase comes out of their mouths they will get dropped at the nearest Greyhound and shipped to grandma's! They travel with portable dvd players and hand held video games and a Kindle so we don't even hear from them at all!
