So my sister got into my car yesterday, and as soon as I switched on the ignition my Disney cd that me and my son listen to on the way to school started playing. The Tikki Room song was on. My sister looked truly confused (she is NO Disney fan) and asked me what the hell I was listening to. I dreaded her response when I said it was a cd with music from the rides at Disney! She was not a bit amused, fully annoyed, and convinced I had lost my mind. I had to wonder if I had crossed over from a Disney fan to a Disney fanatic who may be overly obsessed. Anyone else ever have a moment where they feel they have to question their sanity over their love for Disney? :p

Nope! Most people have hobbies that they obsess over. It might be golf, tennis, coin collecting, movies, etc. Some people drink to escape, others use drugs. I never apologize for my fascination with theme parks. Disney has always been an escape for me. I'm sure people more sophisticated then myself, think of it as childish and socially wrong. That's OK because I laugh at them and their ways quite often myself. I'll take my little obsession anytime.

I don't even think this is a Disney issue. I don't grasp why anyone would be so bothered over someone else's music choices. I mean really, if you want to rock out to Barney's greatest hits or Sesame street even when your kids aren't in the car- who the heck cares as long as you enjoy it. Listening to Disney park music really is no different. i.e. not everyone may share the love of the music, but it's an entirely harmless thing that is all built on personal preferences. Sorry, I know this is your sister, but the fully annoyed reaction she dished out seems excessive, unwarranted, shallow and melodramatic IMO. Ultimatley, I'd ignore it and if pushed - I'd probably be like "sorry you can't be accepting of other people's likes and preferences." Yeah- I get a bit confrontational in things like this. ;)

You all sound perfectly normal to me :D Lets see now....Football vs Disney - both have crazy big crowds, over priced food and souveniers, you are outside in all kinds of weather, experience highest of highs and excitement, know all the important "players" and get their autographs, hate to see it end, normal is acting totally wacky and enthused, using public bathrooms, striking a close friendship with strangers in a matter of seconds, lose your car in the parking lot, endure stupidity but brush it off, and would not trade it for anything else!

Yeah I get strange looks sometimes... I remember someone brought up a yeti in one of my classes and I made a "disco yeti" joke out loud but to myself. Also I have this great talent where I can take smells and associate them with places in Disney. I crossed the fanatic line a long time ago... haha

Yep, I "smell" Disney in the real world all the time...
Every time I start my car and turn on the A/C in the summer, it smells like PotC.
One time I was unpacking some new tennis shoes and they smelled (the rubber, I guess) just like the old TT queue.
Another time, I opened the front door to our office building and it smelled like the lobby at POR.
Happens ALL the time! :)
