Disney World Character Auditions

Does anybody have any information about how the look alike auditions go? I know they're open call but I saw that they recently posted auditions for Star Wars Weekend characters and really wanted to take a whack at it. At the worst, I took half a day off of work without pay to try out.

Any pointers, or things I should know?

Already been there. I was making the thread to ask for any specific tips that aren't listed on there. That's how I found out about it to begin with. Thanks though.

Be expressive, be open to criticism and don't be surprised if you don't make it past the first round. Are you going for only face or for fur as well? From my experience they do auditions for fur characters and based on very specific look criteria (height, weight, face structure, arm length, etc.) they pull for face auditions.

it's for star wars weekend, so face. but yeah. i mean, i'm not expecting to get make it through to the end, though it would be incredibly exciting if i did. i'm just a huge star wars fan and i can't find any reason to not give it a shot.

and honestly, i have no poker face at all so maybe that will work out in my benefit for once!

It may not be a face character audition even if it is for stat wars weekend. The stormtroopers, darth vader, etc. are all considered fur. Likely it's for both.

I forgot about this as well. And so far they only have posted two auditions for Star Wars weekend, both on the same day. So I'm assuming it's for all characters.

Comfortable clothes that you can move in. Most people wear yoga pants/ athletic shorts and a shirt that can show your silhouette, as well as dance shoes or tennis shoes.

I think I have also heard that they don't want people coming in with their heart set on a specific character...so it works against you if you come in proclaiming that you only want to "be friends with" Darth Vadar or whatever.

I'm going to PM you a link from another site with someone's account of auditioning... Hopefully it will help.

My biggest concern is that I wouldn't make it through because I have a pretty decent sized tattoo on the inside of my arm, despite that a lot, if not most of the female characters will be wearing cloaks/arms won't be visible regardless.

Just realized I'm not going to be able to do it anyways because I'm going to be out of town for a week+ right in the middle of star wars weekend season and won't be able to fulfill the obligation. Better luck next year maybe.
