Bus Wait Times

I'm not sure how feasible this is, or how accurate it could possibly be, but wouldn't it be extremely helpful to post up-to-the-minute (approximate) wait times for the resort buses? One of my few real WDW frustrations is arriving at the bus station, but not knowing if the next bus is one minute away or 20 (or more!). It's the only time I actually welcome a bit of a line!

The setup at the GF is only half the solution. The system is far too simple to implement. It only takes a few kiosks at a resort and at the exit of each park. As you are leaving the resort to the bus stop, scan your tickets/wristband, select the park, and the servers manage logistics from there (or reverse for leaving a park). This way a bus headed to Epcot with no one there waiting can be rerouted to DHS where 15 people are waiting.

Hey @Master Yoda, do you see the same scenario for the monorails, ferry boats or water taxis in the near future? It would be helpful for those folks who used those models of transportation.
Probably not in the near future. As I understand it, the ability to give out semi accurate arrival information is a by product of the GPS tracking they use on the buses. The buses need this to be able to route them more efficiently. To my knowledge the boats do not have this and really don't need it because they run dedicated, predictable routes. There is no reason they could not add it, but there is no real incentive for them to do so.

My college city has a bus system where there is a sign at each bus stop that has a four digit code. You text the four digit code to a number on the sign and you get a wait time for when the next bus will arrive. There is also a website you can go to and punch in the same four digit code. It works extremely well. And this is for a city the size of 100,000+ when all the students are in school. Ironically, for some reason they call it the "Bongo" system. I'd love if Disney implemented something like this for the transportation systems
