The Doggie Bag?

Ok,I've often wondered if at a table service meal,is it ok to ask for a doggie bag if you can't Finnish all your meal,or is that a no no.I know that you can take food from your food court back to your room.Just wondered?:shrug:

It is perfectly acceptable except at a buffet style restaurant. Quite often your server will ask you if you want to box anything up at the end of your meal.

And, hopefully you are heading back to your room, so you can store it away in the fridge.:animwink:

we did at several table service venues on our last trip. i was getting sick and just didn't eat much but we were on the dining plan. we plan our dinners later in the evenings so we were heading back to the hotel room anyway and it wasn't a problem. my sister completely enjoyed extravagant breakfasts from the hardly touched leftovers.

Can't comment on how it works in Europe but in America if your portion size isn't enough for 3 people and still have leftovers we would consider it a rip-off.

Nothing wrong with bringing back a midnight snack. We like to stop at Earl of Sandwich on our way out of DTD and bring sandwiches back to the room,

Gee I never seem to have that problem. I bring 2 boys with big appetites my poor starving dog! Where is .. oh never mind it's back at the pub having a few!

It would be nice if they could send it back to your resort, similar to packages. But...Refrigerated of course.

1) The problem I have is most of the time I am not heading directly back to the room. By the time I get back, whatever I am carrying around is well past it'sprime.

2) If you can't Finnish your food? Do the people in Finland somehow dine differently?

Yes.In Finland they freeze the Finnish food in freezers.

Acceptable, and taken full advantage of at home...however with our WDW life style nearly impossible to make happen. We're always off doing something at one of the parks after supper. Last thing I want to do is being toting around my wife's left over 28 ounce porterhouse from Yachtsman's.

I agree!! I know there are people who bring their toaster and keurig!!
