Are ADR's necessary for KONA breakfast

I soooooo want to try the TONGA toast. However, not sure I can talk everyone else into going there for a large breakfast. We are planning on Aukerhouse one morning so not sure I can talk them into another TS breakfast. So are ADR's an absolute must?

Yea, you should definitely make a reservation, unless you get up early one morning on a weekday and put your name on the list.

You probably should just to be safe although we have walked up at both breakfast and dinner. And it's also true that captain cooks sells the tonga toast too.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
No strawberry compote at Captaine Cooke's last time I was there, but the Tonga Toast was the same.
You didn't mention when you were traveling, but I have secured ADR's for a party of 6 for Kona two days out, while at WDW during Free Dining.
If you are determined to eat at Kona, I'm not sure if I would take the chance and forego the ADR.

in my experience, kona has never been filled to capacity for breakfast, although i've never been there peak season. but then you are not going peak season, odds are you can walk in. and no....there is no strawberry compote at captain cooke's- makes all the difference to me

I would make the ADR's. It's a great breakfast. I love the pineapple macadamia pancakes as well as the tonga toast. Kona is a great breakfast!

I'd make ADRs. It's not worth risking this treasure of a breakfast restaurant! And to potentially miss the strawberry compote? Sacrilege!
