How much in one day?

How much do you think WDW takes in, gross, in a single day?

Now, obviously there are endless variables to consider so I'll try to narrow it down. Lets say just MK, from the numbers I've found it looks like an average day at MK is about 50,000 people. Not everyone is buying a 1-day ticket and not everyone is buying a 10-day ticket so the average of those is about $60/person. Already that's $3M.

Food. Again lots of variables but I assume almost everyone gets SOMETHING in the parks. Whether it be dinner at BOG or a Dole Whip, heck even just a bottle of water it's still something. I'l just guess at $20/person. I'm sure some are spending way more and some probably less but I would imagine it's a pretty safe guess. So there's another million.

Merchandise is a tough one to guess. I definitely see lot's of people coming out of stores with bags but nowhere near everyone. So I'll be conservative and say a third of guests buy something and I'll guess around $15/person. Another $225,000.

Add up parking, stroller rentals, photo pass, all the other little things and I'm sure you get another $500,000. So that's almost $5M on an average day at MK.

Obviously MK is the busiest park, but the numbers I've seen show the other 3 parks almost double the average MK rate and add in the water parks and it probably pushes it over that double mark. And just so we're clear, these are the numbers I'm using http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions...tion-attendance-figures-released-for-2008.htm

So that's a conservative $15M per day not including any of the resorts! Wow!

Thoughts? Math I did wrong? Any of my guesses seem off to you? I don't normally have Mondays off so I'm already going a little stir-crazy :)

They are taking in a an insane amount. There are also huge expenses as well. The average guest will spend ~$150 a day on everything (room, food, tickets, souvenirs). Assuming there are 250k guests a day, you are talking about $30M a day for everything. The operating expense has got to be somewhere around $28M a day for the parks resorts, and other staff.

$15 million, and we haven't even started on DLR, DLP, DLHK, and DLT. I say that all the parks worldwide combined money total would make me pass out if I ever won that much.

We were in EPCOT one evening last week and it turned sharply cold. I stopped into Mouse Gear before heading out and people were buying the sweatshirts like crazy! They rolled out a number of racks of them and people were buying them up at $54 each.
