This past Sept. we celebrated our 30th anniversary at WDW with a week at SSR. On our actual anniversary day, which happened to fall on a Sunday, we went to the HoB gospel brunch in the morning and Cali Grill for fireworks in the evening. We have gone on previous anniversaries, celebrated birthdays there, had small reunions and even celebrated days that end in y.

I celebrate not being at work (at least when in the parks). Unfortunately, I work in the mornings while there. People may think that is crazy, but work is the reason I can afford to go. Since I am up at the crack of stupid, there is nothing happening any way. I can go out to the pool area, lounge in a chair, login (through my phone before), and close out all major issues in a matter of an hour or so.

We have gone from 14 people in my department to 4. We have no backups, work doesn't stop, and when you are a gateway for the money, you get bugged often. Fortunately, I have only been called once while in the parks and it was only for about 2 minutes. I can live with that because life will get difficult without the job. Plus, I am partially held hostage due to that the paid for my MBA which I have to repay if I seek employment elsewhere within 5 years of the degree.

Our first trip was a celebration of just that...our first visit :) This previous visit was a graduation present/celebration for my son who graduated from high school last May. However, I did celebrate the fact that I was on a serious vacation. It was the first time in 15 years I wasn't on call for work no matter what. I never once thought about work. It was awesome. Best vacation I've ever had.

Our next trip is in celebration of my DGD joining teen life ... ouch, I feel old.

I've celebrated my dad's 60th birthday, my 21st and 23rd birthdays, got engaged in Disney, honeymooned in Disney, and celebrated my divorce in Disney.

I have celebrated my 40th birthday my nieces 10th and Dad's 70th. We celebrate our lives together as family and friends. We celebrate the making of memories and the memories of long ago. We celebrate that this is a place we come to and be ourselves, escape the daily stressors of life.

We celebrate at least one of our birthdays there every year. It's a great place to get older, because it somehow manages to keep you young! :)
