Your Refurb / New Attraction Wish List

This is a place for centralizing what you'd like to see done to the parks, in terms of upkeep, refurbs, and new attractions. Not intended to be a list of complaints. And I think we should list these ideas/wishes in terms of things that might actually happen, not radical changes or additions that are highly unlikely. It doesn't have to be a complete list, maybe just your top 5 or top 10. So, here goes nothing:

1) I would actually like to see Carousel of Progress get some attention. Not an overhaul by any means, just a good cleaning :D And maybe an update of the "current day" section to make it more like, well, the current day. It's really, really outdated.

2) Replace Stitch's Great Escape with a new attraction. I don't know what... but that thing has GOT TO GO.

3) Add another "mountain" to Magic Kingdom. I really like the idea of the rumored Fire Mountain in Adventureland.

4) Get that Yeti working.

5) Improve regular maintenance and mousekeeping in general. I hate to say it, but the last couple trips I've seen a lot of trash around. Now, that's not to say the guests aren't at fault. There's no excuse for just leaving your soda cup sitting on a ledge or on a bench when you're done drinking. There are trash cans EVERYWHERE. But, things should be kept tidy at all times. Seeing trash really takes away from the magic. Same goes for replacing light bulbs, touching up paint, etc. These are easy fixes, but do so much to add to (or take away from) the intended atmosphere.

6) No more Nescafe! o_O

7) Star Wars Land!

8) Beastly Kingdom instead of Avatar Land in Animal Kingdom (ok, this most likely ain't gonna happen... but I can dream, right?)

9) Bring back Spectromagic, at least for a final goodbye before replacing it with a new nighttime parade.

10) Carsland in Hollywood Studios.

1) Beastly Kingdom. It would be so nice to have an explanation for that dragon on the AK logo and why our car was recently parked in the Unicorn lot. After reading what it was supposed to be, and scouring the internet and looking at concept art, I feel somehow robbed. I have zero interest in an Avatar land, and think this is so misguided. Not sure if this is meant as a competitor to Universal's Harry Potter (It probably is.), but basing an entire land off of a trilogy of movies where only one exists? No. I challenge you to name any of the characters from that movie or say anything positive about it that does not praise how pretty it was to look at. Disney deserves more.

2) Fix the Yeti. Fix the Yeti. I was fortunate to see her in all her fully operational glory, and I thought it was the beginning of AK's rise to greatness.

3) Return Dinosaur to its original, grittier atmosphere.

4) Refurbish/Re-write The Great Movie Ride- That attraction should be on par with the Haunted Mansion and be well-kept and preserved. Also, some sprucing up is definitely in order. The "I see dead people." joke makes me cringe every single time. This ride could be something truly amazing, and really deserves it.

5) Make the Backlot Tour something amazing, or replace it with something related and worthy-An attraction singing the praises of Michael Bay and his Pearl Harbor is so out of place.

6) Scale back the Pirates movie references in the ride. I KNOW this is hardly an original complaint. I am completely fine with Jack Sparrow appearing in the attraction-as if he were always there as the imagineers intended. But to make the entire story of the ride about Jack is puzzling-the added/re-recorded dialog is most out of place, and I miss some of the original figures that got taken away, like the original captain and final pirate pointing his gun at the boats as they passed to the exit.

7) Refurbish Carosel of Progress-it deserves to be well kept like Spaceship Earth. Redo the final scene. Lines like "You didn't even have a car phone!" and how wonderful and innovative laserdiscs are need to go.

8) The return of Horizons.

9) Re-shoot/Refurbish the Universe of Energy-make it more concise and well paced-I love this attraction, but my fellow park guests are often seen napping.

10) Remove/Redo Innoventions-basically the same as my issues with the Backlot Tour. I remember loving Innoventions as a kid, but honestly I didn't even consider going in there this past week when I was there.

2. Redo Imagination
3. Replace Stitch
4. Update the future on CoP
5. Just replace all the NesCafe machines with actual coffee. C'mon you have Starbucks to partner with now.
6. Beast Kingdom
7. Pixar or Star Wars land where the Backlot Tour is
8. Do something with Pleasure Island, preferably reopen Adventurer's Club.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
My hubby calls me the world's fussiest coffee drinker. I will go a whole week without coffee if all that is available is crap. And, I have never been able to drink the Nescrape at WDW ... until my last trip in November.
For some reason, it wasn't so bad. I used my refillable resort mug at least twice a day/every day for 10 days. Has it changed - or have my taste buds?

From a serious perspective.....

Lets do something with the Studios. That needs the most help. Rip out backlot & LMA and fully make "Pixar Place. Make the Comedy Warehouse a daily thing. Update GMR. Close American Idol, use the equity money from that to fund CW. Dispose of the hat. Find something in one of the movie properties we own and exploit it. New Nightime show.

DAK? Kill the avatar project. Add more Animals and a few more rides. Move FOLK to Africa (as has been rumored) and greenlight a beastly kingdom.

Epcot? Give me one country and do something with WoL building. My suggestion has always been a "weather pavilion". Bring in stormriders as the headliner, partner with the NHC to set up a "hurricane tracking station" and have all sorts of weather/science related stuff in there. Come up with something to replace Captain Eo. Redo the whole Imag pavilion. Replace the now horribly old Illuminations show. Its been 13 1/2 years, time for a new show.

EDIT: And take out that Joe Carter/Mitch Williams nonsense out of the Oh Canada! film. It was 1993, cant we get a more recent canadian sports reference in there like Hockey!?!?

MK: Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance. Its supposed to be the showpiece park of an international tourist destination, keep it that way. Then find me a headliner attraction in one of the lands that will actually draw new crowds instead of appealing to existing fans like New Fant. Replace wishes. Reopen Diamond Horseshoe review. Pay for it by getting rid of Stitch's Dance Party.

Thats just a start.....

MK - do something with the indie cars before we all die from the fumes. also the laugh floor and stitches great escape are just unnecessary. however, i think people need to start appreciating the classics, such as peter pan. these are rides people grew up with. it's already a bummer they took out snow white, all peter pan needs is a fresh coat of paint and a more officiant queue line.

DHS - get rid of the muppets area or add a new show, the 3d is borderline pathetic. i appreciate a cheesy show as much as the next guy but lets fix the fuzziness and update it. also, disney pops out movies all of the time, lets get rid of the out dated items on the back lot tour and bring in props that kids actually recognize. keep fantasmic, beauty and the beast, and the little mermaid, they're all classics that are expected. and of course, lets bring in a larger pixar section! lastly, the narnia attraction, which is basically an advertisement for a movie which has been out for years, needs to be done away with.

DAK - it's a lot of walking with little reward. just do something...anything!

Epcot - lets be real. the front section is basically the ball, mission space, soarin, and test track. four whole rides...wow. the whole futuristic innovated concept of the front is lost with lack of upkeep on technology. and also, the Michael Jackson hosted attraction, it's over, get someone else.

No. No. No.
Just as Leafs' fans are stuck in 1967, Jays' fans are stuck in '93.
That hit was as good as it gets.

I would be completely content if all I saw was the return of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride to MK (an updated version of an old classic--but not like the hack job that was made of poor Figment). I loved the Mr. Toad attraction so much as a child. I would give anything to go on it one more time with my older brother. :(

I completely forgot to mention Imagination-Figment is essentially an Epcot Icon-and the original ride with Dreamfinder (from what I remember) was infinitely more engaging-like a living pop-up book. And utilize all of Imageworks-what a waste that is. And unlike other posters here, I actually really enjoy and appreciate Captain EO-not to start a war or anything-but if they're to keep the show going, some refurbishment/promotion is in order-it's just tucked away practically unnoticed.

It was amazing. I have a video of the original Imagination on VHS (yes my dad was THAT dad who filmed the attractions even though we went every single year) and it brings back so many memories. The new attraction is just... sad.
