Celebrating 3 Birthdays for our Trip in September....2 adults & my 5 year old princess. Suggestions?

We are going to WDW in September, where we will celebrate 3 birthdays: my princess who will be turning 5, my husband who will be turning 38, and my momma who will be turning 59. It is going to be a super special trip and I want to find ways to make it even more special! Any and all ideas are welcome! I spoke with the Disney Birthday people and they gave me suggestions but they are mostly uber expensive ($300+).

I would say make reservations for the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks and Dessert Party for sure. When you make your ADRs make sure you note you're celebrating a special occasion. Not all of the restaurants will recognize it but it's a nice surprise when one of them do :)

There were about 100 seats (maybe a bit more) and the seating is assigned. You are taken to your table by a CM when you check in. I will tell you that we never once felt cramped, crowded or any of those things. There was a PhotoPass photographer on hand as well.

The desserts...lots! From cheesecake to cupcakes. My son (he's 18) loved the mango shooters. Chocolate covered strawberries (they were huge!), brownies, mousse, you name it, I think they had it. As well a variety of drinks such as coffee, tea, juice, etc.

We were able to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade from our seats and had a clear view of Wishes as well. Was one of the best $$ I spent at WDW in my book. We did this our last evening of our trip. I can't wait to do it again and am personally making this a must do for any future trips. I highly recommend it.

And, it was fun to get ushered out the "back way" behind Main Street afterwards to avoid the massive crowd on Main Street.

Here are a couple of pictures I found:

Yes, it's all outside on the Tomorrowland Terrace. Some of the seats are under the terrace but you are not closed in. When you check in for the party, it's on the Tomorrowland Entrance side just as you cross over the bridge.

A lot of folks snuggled up to the rail when Wishes started but we found our seats to be the perfect place for viewing. Tink actually flew right over us :) Even the DS got a kick out of that!

I'm big on ordering bday cakes :) We enjoyed Dessert Party and the hassle free Wishes viewing...just a different vibe than a cake.

This might help you if you decide you want to look into cakes.

That does help and I have it bookmarked now. We ordered a cake at CRT on our last visit and were really disappointed as it was still frozen when brought out. It was just a plain chocolate cake with her happy birthday on it and they charged like 35 bucks. I would like to have a fancy one with all of the princesses in pink, red and purple (her fave colors) on it.

If you ordered the cake with your meal or one of the princess package cakes, they are usually podium cakes. i.e. premade/prefrozen. The fancy cakes are freshly baked cakes and quite different. You can get really creative with them. The first two are cakes are mine (Contemporary bakery) and the third is a cake my friend ordered (GF bakery).

The Belle cake was $150.

The castle topper referred to as the "small" topper (pictured below) adds about $100 to the cost of a cake. It's often seen on wedding cakes, but I know for certain I've seen it added to bday cakes.

The more you want done to the castle beyond very basic trimming usually costs extra. I had inquired about it since I was looking at the sandcastle treatment for it for an Ariel themed cake...and that bumped the cost up to about $160 for just the topper. OUCH.

What made the Belle cake so expensive? Was it the topper?

The white chocolate toppers add a considerable amount. So yes, Belle definitely added to the price. I think the fancy fondant cakes start in the $75-85 territory and costs rise with decorations. The Contemporary is usually the most reasonable whereas the GF is usually the most expensive. My friend's cake - where she provided the topper - cost $117 from the GF bakery.

Do you just send them the toppers when you provide them? I was thinking I could get a crown and then have them do princesses in guilded frames around it.
