My Dining Choices (Opinions?)...

I am currently planning our most exciting trip to WDW and I'm loving every minute of it! We plan to stay on property with the "plus" dining plan (1 Quick, 1 Table, 1 Snack) I currently picked out these restaurants for our possible 11-day trip (I'll only share the table service) :

:)=tried before, liked...and going back

  • Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue T2
  • 50's Prime Time Cafe T1
  • Rainforest Cafe (DTD) :) T1
  • Be Our Guest (quick lunch) Q1
  • California Grill T2
  • Le Cellier (spell check?) T2
  • AMC Fork and Screen (no DDP)
  • Citricos (or should we do Narcoosee's) T2
  • AND....I need one more table service OUTSIDE of the parks, preferably.
So wadda you think?!?!? Am I wasting my family's credits on any of these or are they good choices. As you can see, we are only going back to one restaurant. We would be fine with paying Rainforest Cafe OOP and adding another signature or two table nights to the schedule...but I don't know what to add?! We are fine with eating Quick service, but Table service will be a nice, interesting change. Thanks! :D

Rainforest Cafe is cool inside, but the food is just blah. Maybe swap it out for wolfgang Pucks, much better food. Le Cellier is way over hyped in my opinion, I would try two 1TS places instead of this place, like 1TS at DHS and 1TS at EPCOT (mama Melrose, via Napoli, Tepan Edo Hibachi) or even a character breakfast for 2TS. It's tough to choose, but try and make the most of the DDP, out of pocket meals is so expensive.

I actually liked the Rainforest Café's food. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad. Le Cellier probably won't even have an ADR so 2 different Table service nights are probably going to happen. And I think Cinderella's is the only two credit character dining :)

We have a local rainforest café and were underwhelmed by it so I can’t speak to the ones in Disney. I know if it were me I would go with the T-Rex instead, but that is just my opinion. I would stay with Citrico’s over Narcoossee’s again just my opinion. For a last choice, if Signature I would go with Jiko or Yachtsman. If not,Whispering Canyon, Boma or inside the parks Biergarten.

Looks good to me,however if I had a choice of using 2 credits between Le Cellier or Jiko. Then Jiko would win hands down. Was at Cali Grill in July this year and this was our highlight of our TS meals.:)

And we might be staying at the AKL so that would really work out!

Well if you are staying at AKL,you'll be spoilt for choice..The big three..Jiko..Sanaa..Boma..:)

I'd do Le Cellier for lunch (1TS) which would free you up to do Jiko (2TS) and Boma (1TS). Or like zurg said, Biergarten is good and entertaining.

I've always wanted to go to California Grill, looks like a great list.

Personally I love California Grill! :)

I would skip Rainforest Cafe and add in Jiko or Boma, especially if you are staying at AKL. Cali Grill is one of my favorite restaurants on property, and I would do Narcoossee's over Citricos, but that's just me. Also, if you are looking for something outside the parks, try Kouzzina at the Boardwalk, its 1TS credit and we thought it was actually better than a few of the signature's we ate at.

Our most "local" Rainforest Café is Chicago and we live literally 5 hours away. We like their pizza...and the VOLCANO! Nothing really special, but two of my group members have never been. My mom hates dinosaurs so I don't think I should torture her considering she's paying ;)

I'll comment on those I've eaten at...

50's Prime Time - fun atmosphere and decent food. If you're going for gourmet then you'll be disappointed but for home style comfort food...you're in the right place.

Be Our Guest - never ate there but I would definitely try it!

California Grill - absolutely loved it! Really good food and a nice view of wishes (it's no Main St USA but it's still cool)

Le Cellier - Loved it our first 2 visits...last trip was a little disappointed. Not that it wasn't good - just not as good as I remember.

Narcoossees - We ate here and really loved it. Totally worth the 2 credits. If you love seafood - then you're in the right place. Yummy food and also a nice view of Wishes.

Outside of the parks: Kona Cafe, Captains Grille and if you like Rainforest Cafe you could try T-Rex at Downtown Disney

[*]Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue - not as good as it once was, but still a good time
[*]50's Prime Time Cafe - food is okay. PB&J shake is awesome! And it is a fun place.
[*]Rainforest Cafe (DTD) :) - You like it. My favorite breakfast is RFC. But everyone will tell you you shouldn't like it. :)
[*]Be Our Guest (quick lunch) - How could you not?!
[*]California Grill - never been there
[*]Le Cellier (spell check?) -extremely over-rated on the internet. Good, but not amazingly so.
[*]AMC Fork and Screen - fine. Food at the movies - less fun than I thought, but fine.
[*]Citricos (or should we do Narcoosee's) - never been to either
[*]AND....I need one more table service OUTSIDE of the parks, preferably. - just about every chain restaurant that exists can be found close to WDW. Just pick one you like! :)
