Not entirely applicable to forum reading.. but a lot of it does. People should read this and self-evaluate themselves in how they interpret posts and items posted in discussion forums. The simple 'how do you know..' evaluation (even without directly asking that to the poster) usually tells you boatloads

I just trust everything Martin or Lee says and I usually do OK!!

This is useful for people who are actually interesting in getting information ("truth") from the internet. But some are just looking for validation of their biases. And some are just looking for entertainment.

You would be surprised at how many people, many who are quite intelligent, can not tell the difference between the two.
