Free/Cheap things to do (and eat!) around The World...

What are some fairly cheap and/or free (free in Disney, no way!) things to do in the world BESIDES roaming resorts, DTD, and the Boardwalk? Which boat rentals are affordable and worth it too? Is $12 to much for mini golf even though it IS Disney? We had free timeshare points for our resort where we can literally see fireworks and the icons of WDW outside our window/balcony for 5 days! We did a day in July and we did DL this March, so we don't want to spend moola on tickets. But...is MNSSHP worth it? Also...how is Planet Hollywood? Is it worth a one time trip? We did Rainforest this summer and enjoyed it, but it's too soon to go back. The character buffets aren't good enough for the price even though I LOVE the atmosphere. So what do you think? We've roamed the International Gateway and monorail resorts. What other resorts are fun to look at? WOW this was much longer than I anticipated...much like our last experiences at Kali River Rapids. So...what do my fellow cheapskates enjoy at WDW?!?!? :D

I didn't think Planet Hollywood was worth it. We had 7 or 8 people and they squeezed us into a booth made for 6. Bad customer service, and the food was underwhelming. But, if you liked Rainforest's atmosphere, you'd like T-Rex. Pretty much the same as Rainforest, only with cooler rooms and better food. T-Rex has the best burgers I've ever had, highly recommend them.

Electric Water Paegent is free, and if you like boat rides you could take the boat from DTD to POR.

Go in the evening and catch Piano Bob in the lounge. There are some who dont care for his show but most think its wonderful. Me? I catch him on every visit. He gets everyone involved includeing the kids! Buy a glass of wine or two. Its really not that exspensive. You will have a blast and will thank me later.

The best freebie in WDW is watching the MK fireworks from the ferry launch at the TTC. By that time of night they don't charge for parking, and you get to see the fireworks from the intended vantage point, showing up right behind the castle. Plus, they pump the music across the pond so you get the entire thing without paying a cent and can get away before the crowds start flowing out. It's especially great for the parties, as you can see the special fireworks without buying a ticket. This was a better trick back before Magic Your Way, on arrival day if you didn't want to waste a park day (which is rather moot now if you have a week long ticket, as adding an extra day even if you only use it a few hours is worth it).

We watched them from the Contemp balcony under the monorail and they were wonderful there too!

Free pop at Club Cool. Israel's is the only one I even kind of like, though, so I don't go in there too much.

During F&W, they sometimes give out free Craisins at the thing in Epcot where they wade around in the cranberries, like on the commercial. I happen to love Craisins and just love getting freebies!

That is the only free F&B stuff I recall getting.

Head over to Fort Wilderness and catch the Chip and Dale campfire sing along. Chip and Dale come out an hour or so before the sing along and play with the kids. Its by far the best one on one time you will get with these characters. The sing along is great and you have the ability to roast marshmellows. What could be better!

Loving the Chip and Dale pictures!

I've been to Planet Hollywood and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would totally go again, and I was suprised at how reasonable the meal actually was. It's the only time I've had a sit down meal on Disney Property!
