Tree of Life repair work?

Any word on repairs to inspect or replace / repair tree limbs on the Tree of Life? Are the ugly rope and netting covers still up around the Tree of Life pathways to protect the walkways from falling branches? If they are still up any word on if they are permanent?
I'm just curious as I had not heard too much about this since the branch falling incident.
Thanks

Yes, the ugly netting and tacky wall things are still there. I am starting to think they will never remove them. There has to be a better way.

we all had a feeling this was going to become a permanent addition.

We need a term for this, when WDW adds something ugly and out of place "temporarily", but the addition becomes permanent. I vote for "MGM". Yes, I know it is now Disney's Hollywood Studios but at the time of the greatest "temporary" addition of all (The Sorcerer's Hat) it wasn't.

For example:
That fence surrounding Casey Jr. is totally a MGM
Man they MGM'ed DHS with that hat.
Animal Kingdom is really MGM'ing it with all these nets surrounding the Tree Of Life.

Cheapness and/or laziness.

Yep. Still there and those ugly construction-type boxes are all around too. I think they are taking advantage of the majority of guests not exploring the Tree of Life past the Tough to Be a Bug queue. I have a feeling these eyesores will be around a long time - if not completely forgotten in a year by management.

Would love to get Lee's take on this. So is the deal that it's easier to rope things off than to fix them? Or is there a deeper concern that the Tree of Life has such significant potential structural issues that big buck$ need to be found to do an engineering assessment? I can't imagine a worse show; used to love the hidden paths around the Tree.

A part of me is wondering if they decided to/had to wait for the new fiscal year starting Oct 1 to start any kind of major refurbishment/inspection of the branches.

This is what I think is going on. Figure out what? How much? Then bump what I assume is a huge amount into the new fiscal.
