7 Dwarves Mine Train track.....now onsite

Although not yet ready to be installed, photos (@ Screamscape) show photos of pieces of the ride track that are now onsite.

I believe these are all track components for the "lift hill", you can see the anti-rollback track. On Expedition Everest, they used a special anti-rollback track device which only interacts with the track when needed (in an emergency), and so no clickety clackety sound.

Interesting shape for a lift hill too.

Does anybody think that there is a POSSIBILITY of an early finish to the ride? Haha I'm hoping that they finish it earlier than expected so I can ride it in my Summer '13 trip. Too bad it's 2014 :/

I am with you on that. Going Nov 2013. Maybe a sneak preview in Nov and open for the holidays? I know it's just wishful thinking.

2014 means we get much more pixie dust than if it was 2013. We do not want the 2013 version.

Quality takes time.

I figure that by the end of Summer of 2013, the mountain's exterior work will be almost complete, plus a whole lot of nice plants and trees will be planted that will complement BoG. I don't think that it will finish that much ahead of schedule. Maybe soft openings in December 2013.

Wow!! THIS is exciting!! Progress is moving rapidly; I am a believer in a late 2013 opening (at least a soft opening) :) It's so amazing to see pieces of the track!

how did they get these pictures?! where is this grassy oasis for roller coaster track pieces?

I was thinking the same thing. Someone is willing to put their job on the line to give someone a scoop. If it was a CM they could get in a lot of trouble and if it wasn't then it is someone who probably is somewhere they shouldn't be. I can't imagine Disney was just holding this stuff in the open on the side of the road or something.

hmmm even though its the lift hill, some of those pieces are quite large - possibly indicating a quite heavy train

I find it extremely odd it's taken them this long to install track. Usually track is one of the first things to go up, as far as coasters are concerned, and yet they've spent a significant amount of time enclosing a lift hill that is only the supports with no track attached yet.

I had been thinking this also, and brought it up in another thread. I wonder if the delivery of the track was delayed for some reason so they decided to move ahead with the rest of the construction and add it later.

The lift hill is actually a lot bigger than it looks, and the side of the lift hill is open, plenty of room to still do a lot of work.

I don't think it'd be too hard to get the lift track in place with the crane, there were only like 3 or 4 supports for to be connected too, but if the whole track is that massive it may take a while to get the whole thing in place. After seeing how massive and difficult to move and a line those track pieces will be, for the first time I'm thinking that 2014 make sense

The lift hill components are a lot bigger than normal track, they have the anti-rollback track and the chain lift, which takes up a lot of vertical space. So, the rest of the track won't be nearly as "massive". BTW, there are certainly a lot of ways to move the sections of track without the use of a massive crane.
