Best place to eat at Downtown Disney (Disneyland)?

I have just barely skimmed through Downtown Disney at WDW which for some reason I didn't go through, but what are the best places to eat in Disneyland's Downtown Disney? I noticed there are LOTS of shops and restaurants crammed in there. I figure we can take a couple of nights and walk around there and grab a bite even if we don't go to the parks that day.

I would suggest Catal for breakfast. They have a 2nd floor balcony and it is lots of fun to watch all the people scurrying to get into the park. Plus the breakfast offerings are really good!

Our favorite restaurant is Napa Rose, especially at the chef's counter. We have also dined at Tequila Jo's, which is OK but not really exciting for somebody from Southern California who has Mexican food very frequently. I do like Ralph Brennan's Jazz Cafe - have not had a bad meal there. The Naples pizza place is OK, wouldn't go out of my way to go there again.

And of course there are the caramel apples from Marceline's - I would always recommend those!

We love La Brea Bakery for a quick, cheap, and awesome meal outside of the parks. Ralph Brennan's is also great for dinner, and ESPN Zone is fun with pretty good food as well.

Catal is my favorite.

Ralph Brennan's is second, but only if I'm in a mood for loud jazz and a boisterous dining room. Or if I don't really want to hear what my dinner companion is saying, which sometimes happens.

Tortilla Joes and the ESPN zone are the best values. We like the food at both very much. Nothing fancy, just decent food in fun environments. Sometimes a burger at ESPN is all you need! For a different kind of thing, go over into the DL hotel courtyard and hit Trader Sams after dark when the tikis are lit.
