Toy Story Mania!

OK so I am using the Touringplans.com for all 4 parks while I am at the World just to get an idea of time. No matter how I try to work it, Toy Story Mania has an hour wait. REALLY!!??? At the end of September. I thought that was suppose to be a good time to visit. It's not even on the weekend.

Your always gonna find a long wait. Probably the only way to get on it without waiting on an absurd line is to get a fastpass when the park opens. You could also try seeing if the line is shorter during EMH

My first visit to Toy Story was this past April. I got to the park about 8:30 AM and went directly to TSM. At that time the FP was for 1 PM. At the time I got it, I didn't realize that it conflicted with my Grandsons Jedi time. About a half hour passed before I found out. When I did I went back over to the Kiosk and waited for someone to get 4 FP's and asked if they wanted to trade for earlier ones. The ones they had was for 3:30 PM. That time worked fine for me and they happily traded theirs for mine. The point was that in just a half hour it went from 1 PM to 3:30 PM. The earlier you get there the better. Because DHS is relatively small it really is no problem getting back to TSM easily from anywhere in the park.

Side note: Even though I thought TSM was fun there is no way on earth that I would stand in line for an hour or more just to experience it. There are way too many other things to do.:)

It's in a park with a distinct lack of family rides, has fastpass, and TERRIBLE capacity. That's a recipe for long lines.

I have heard that first thing in the morning, the line to get a FP is as long as the standby line.
Is it better to wait for FP or just get in line, or both?

This past June, we got there at opening. I grabbed the FP's and then we got right in the standby line. It said an hour, but was maybe 15 minutes at most. Came out and got in line again. It said an hour, but was only 20 minutes because not all of the inside paths were being used. Then when we got out it that last time was a over an hour wait. We did go back later to use the FP's and got on 3 times with short wait times.

Yes it is. We do both. First get to the FP machines as quickly as possible, get that FP and then jump in line. Lines get crazy long as the day goes by and FP run out. If you want to experience the ride multiple times your best bet is to be on the ball first thing in the morning.

We are going the first day we get there to take advantage of the EMH so I won't be there early enough to get a FP unless I can get it around 1.

Agree with all those above. Get a fast pass. We waited an hour or more when it first opened and then we went last year, waited an hour again. It's a very popular atteaction so now if we want to ride it, we will get a fast pass.

If you can't get a FP, ride it first thing in the morning or last thing at night. It is fun enough, but IMO is not worth any kind of wait.

I have found that the best method is get to DHS at rope drop. Then go straight to TSM and wait in the standby line. The FP machines will be swamped with people. The standby line will most likely be no more than a 20 minute wait. After you exit the attraction, head straight for the FP machines as the crowds will have diminished. You should be able to pick up a FP quickly for later in the day.

When I went to the kiosk (twice) there was no line there at all. There was quite a line in Standby though. The second time, I actually had to wait a few minutes to find someone that was getting 4 passes. Not a big crowd. I cannot vouch for other days, I'm just saying what it was like that one day.
